    The room was dusty. No heater and towel hook in the bathroom. Bring your own toiletries as the complementary toiletries is all shampoo there is not even a hand soap. Location was great just by Liverpool Lime station.

    Had such a good night's sleep.......the beds were SO comfortable. Not my first stay at the Nelson and won't be the last. Always good value for money and the location is great for the exploring the city and even better for theatre trips.

    We stayed one night in a double room - with ensuite - were going to a concert at the Philharmonic Hall, and couldn't get anywhere near there. It's a budget hotel, and the price for a Saturday night was very reasonable, compared to other rates. There were no shelves or cupboard in the bathroom to put anything, and also, a new carpet had been fitted in the bedroom, so the bathroom door wouldn't close properly - it needed shaving down. It was a folding wooden door, and because it wouldn't close properly, there was a small gap in the middle! Cupboard area and shelves to put clothes, was marked with damp spots, and smelled a bit musty - no spoons with the tea stuff, and room very small. Shower difficult to work and not the best. The staff on the front desk were very pleasant, and I think they all do their best with what they have - the building is old and tired, and really needs an overhaul. It's ok for one night. We didn't stay for breakfast, went to Wetherspoons at the station, for porridge and yoghurt and toast. Communications were good, they answered queries. To sum up - they do their best with the limitations they have. We had our wedding meal here in 1977, and stayed over night - it's changed a lot since then!
