The island is a typical local one, we felt like we were the only tourist almost the whole stay... that was amazing for us, as we were looking for a quiet place to stay and simply disconnect from the business of our work life.
The place is located on quiet side of the island, just by the shore on the sunrise side. We could not here the power plant or any disturbing noise. The staff was really super helpful. They greated us at the boat arrival, took our luggage to the room, and gave us some guidance.
We took tha half board option once at place, and were not disappointed by the cook (from Bangladesh) who was preparing our breakfast and dinner on demand... always attentive to our requests. It was delicious.
We spent most of our time at the bikini beach which has several sun chairs and nice coconut trees providing some shade. Bring your snorkeling stuff and just enjoy the beautiful water and multiple fishes... it was simply amazing to swim there everyday. Just be cautious of the sea state and current, watch out the tide.
Not really much to say about the host or the place itself.
But the surroundings and the island could be cleaner. While waiting for the sunrise, we could see locals throwing their garbage into the sea... and I'm not talking about left overs but packaging, boxes, plastic... disgusting people. This is everywhere like that in the maldives... and that's really the main disappointment.

"Wow retreat" is an insane place to visit and spend your holiday in
The guest house is located at Felidhoo island with great nature and wonderful views
The owner - Mr. Ali an extremely nice person. He will be your "mom and dad" during the visit. Super friendly and helpful.
There is a chef at the place. He will do any dish to your taste (most dished are from the "local" menu)
The island is small, cozy but with untouched nature, friendly citizens, and a calm atmosphere.
Rooms are clean and in great condition. There is free wifi, an air conditioner, a clothes stand, and a full-size mirror). Also towels, tea/coffee, room cleaning are of course included.
You have to take your own bathroom accessories tho.
Beaches are like from the "Bounty" advertisements). The water is very very warm and clean, slope to the water is gentle. There are lots of corals and exotic fishes). Sand is coral and is not heating up. There are sunbeds on "bikini beach"
There are some bonuses such as:
- you can see the ocean creatures around the beach (fish, squids, sea rays, and sharks)
- lots of crabs on a beach
- beautiful birds
- exotic fruits
- also locals feed sharks in a bay every evening. Sharks are of the safe species, so no worries)
Some side info:
- there are 2 restaurants. A menu is local (general Maldivian)
- you can order additional trips to the ocean or other islands
- local prays are not disturbing
- there are some supermarkets and souvenir shops on the island
- take a mosquito spray)
- a speed boat to Male goes twice a day (none on Friday) and its $50 - $55 per person
The "bikini beach" is a bit on the smaller side and not being cleaned often.

The location of the property is great, in a quiet corner of the island, far enough of the generator to be not affected by its sound. The room opens into a lovely, small garden with beautiful plants and flowers.
The people (Ali and Monaz) who take care of the place are very helpful and polite and go above and beyond to help the guests. They were kind enough to pack our bags and transport them to a different island when there was a sudden lockdown because of COVID. We appreciate their kind help very much. Thank you, Ali and Monaz!
The island itself is lovely, well maintained and the bikini beach a nice place to swim. Just be aware that people expect women to wear more modest clothes when not on bikini beach. So heading out quickly in a pair of shorts and a tank top will result in awkward stares.
While the people who were taking care of the place were lovely and polite, the same cannot be said of the owner who was not on location and who we were communicating with on WhatsApp. A lot of information in the listing is false. The listing lists a work desk, a mini fridge, a safe, and bicycles, but these items were missing. When the owner was alerted to that, no apology was offered. We were only told that we can use the fridge in the kitchen, which is kept locked at all times and guests are forbidden to enter. That was difficult because we need access to a fridge and booked the property specifically because a mini fridge was listed.
The other issue was the food. Perhaps at the price point, we should not have expected more, but the lack of variety and enthusiasm in presentation was a bit disappointing. For example, the juice was not fresh, but out of a packet. Or, only tuna was served every day and when we asked if we could have some other fish, we were told that no other fish was available. But when we went to the harbour that evening, we came back with arms full of fish, which the island people gifted us. We understand that it is an island and the delivery chain is complicated, but with a bit of imagination and enthusiasm about food, a small buffet like in other guest houses is doable and would have been nice. Also, since there is space outside, an outdoor kitchen for guests could be set up where guests could cook meals for themselves, which would be a lovely amenity.
And the last note I would like to make is that contrary to its name, this is definitely not a "retreat" as there are no other amenities except for stay and board. The diving could not be arranged by the guest house staff, though diving was also listed as one of the amenities. We had to go around the island and ask people around ourselves. This is a simple, budget-friendly guest house. Also, there is no private beach as listed - the beach is public and women cannot swim there in swimwear.
