Holiday Inn Express & Suites - North Carmel / Westfield by IHG

Location is nice. There is a park with a running path connected to it. Bathroom in my room needs some work. Toilet leaked and there was paint damage.

Very clean! Staff was so pleasant and engaging. Delicious breakfast.

There was some confusion with my reservations online, and I was unable to contact a human being at the hotel to rectify the situation prior to check-in. Expedia made an attempt but was told they were unwilling to make any changes. The hotel receptionist was helpful in keeping me in the same room both nights, but there was no adjustment for the additional cost, and two rooms for two nights ended up costing me an extra $62. It would have been very helpful if the refrigerator had had a freezer compartment for ice packs. Also, there was only one shelf in the shower, and it was so small that my own soap and toiletries had to go on the floor. In addition, there was no footrest in the shower for shaving legs. The ice machine on my floor was broken, and the only other one was two floors down, so everyone in the hotel was using it. Found all of the staff to be very, very nice.

Staff was very good in every respect. But... The breakfast food is pretty bad. My room walls were badly cracked (from building setlling?) but not repaired. Toilet had a leak and ran every ten minutes or so, all night. Stains on the rooms sofa.
