Sanma Hotel

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were exceptional. You couldn’t beat the location. The food was excellent. Highly recommend.

Probably the best hotel option near the Falls (unless you are willing to pay £*** per night for the Belnomd inside the park!) It is literally a 5 minute walk to the visitor centre, bird park and helicopter rides and a 5 minute taxi ride to the airport. Note that Uber can be 1/4 the price of a taxi depending on time of day! The hotel and grounds are beautiful but there is still some building work going on near the pool. Breakfast is exceptional and there are restaurant and bar options for Lunch/dinner. The concierge is excellent and you can buy park tickets from him at no extra charge. Sparkling wine on check in is a nice touch and we were able to check in 2 hours early. Reception staff generally did let the place down a bit though. Rooms are nicely done and C well equipped but ours was tiny - clothes hanging rail above the tea/coffee making station - you couldn’t do both! Overall a great stay and a recommended hotel

Birds paradise is very close. Helicopter tours are also closed.

Our first impression was good. Clean, beautiful hotel, welcome drink... But unfortunately, we tried to use sauna and jacuzzi, which were free for guests. We stayed 6 nights - every day we checked sauna. Only one day temperature was +44 degrees, all the rest days - not more than +24. We booked jacuzzi in the spa area. When we came exactly on time - it was occupied already, somebody got massage. It's clear - jacuzzi was free, massage gives profit, but... We already booked before and didn't want to change our plans! Manager from the reception also couldn't do anything - we should go back to the room. No sorry, no compensation!.. In general, you may stay in this hotel, but not more than two nights. Then - just nothing to do. No shops, no restaurants, no any activities around (except Iguassu Falls and park of birds - one day to visit). Breakfast is poor and everything is the same - day by day... Tours are separate story. We booked a private tour for our family (4 people) to Argentinian side of the falls. Nobody told us in advance to take warm cloth and water protection. We didn't know that during excursion we are going 20 minutes by train (opened, without windows) early morning, when outside temperature is 8-10 degrees, and immediately after that we are coming close to waterfall and become completely wet! As a result, two of our family got cold after that. And our guide (and driver), having the umbrella, didn't give it to us and didn't go with us to waterfall, waiting at distance! Question: why he took an umbrella? Another sad story was with a bathroom. Floor in the shower was tilted to wrong side, and water was always on the floor. Toilet worked incorrectly. We asked three times to fix it, but unsuccesfully... And so on. Saying shortly, if we come here next time, we'll definitely choose another hotel. Very bad after-taste...
