Nice location when traveling, close to the highway. Parking is available right in front of the hotel for 8€ per night but we didn’t have to use it as just before the gate of Ibis was a few parking spots and we were lucky because one of them was free. We got the room 120 which smelled horrible once we entered. We didn’t know if it was coming from shower waste or it was just sawage but decided to take shower and see if we get rid of it. But even after showers and with open window the odor was very strong. I asked the receptionist to change the room and after that we moved to 117 which was a lot better with no smell at all. The breakfast was surprisingly good, quite wide selection of food. You can make yourself fresh waffles. All over we had a nice rest, this hotel is perfect for this purpose.

It’s an ibis , it does what it says on the tin , friendly staff , special requests listened too , comfortable bed fairly quiet location ( I stayed on a sat / sun so don’t know what it is like during the week ) only one fault . There is no air conditioning, it’s just a fan that moves the hot air around not sure if it was broken or just non existent, wasn’t just my room mist of the other rooms had their windows open at night. Otherwise will definitely stay again

Fire alarm was covered with a paper bag. Although booked for 2 plus a child there was only a double bed. Apparently updated in 2022 but didn’t look like it. Aircon was set to warm with no option to male it cooler. Sign says during winter it’s not possible to cool. Even with an open window it was still very warm. 25 degrees in fact by the time we left…

Good sized rooms that were clean. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Mattress was very comfortable. Small breakfast area doing hot buffet is available but Macdonald's within walking distance. Would appreciate the towels being slightly larger and thicker.

Staff is very friendly. Location is perfect and very close to important highways. Nevertheless, it is quiet in the hotel, no distress from traffic noise at all. Good breakfast. This is more than a basic IBIS hotel. Plenty parking availability. Good business hotel in overall with good comfort at attractive pricing.

15 minutes walk away from center of Frechen situated in commercial, shopping center. Close to Motorway and by car easy reach to cologne and duesseldorf area - therefore a good price performance offering for the bisinesss traveller. Typical Ibis set up, you know what you get. Lobby a bit dated look and feel.

Staff spoke little or no English. Not service oriented. Bus connection to Cologne was a challenge. Food was adequate but unremarkable. I found another hotel for the rest of my stay only 2 blocks from Köln HBF.at a comparable price. Much better staff and nicer facility. And better food and transportation options.

Friendly efficient staff, small but adequate restaurant with nice food at a fair price. Rooms were spotlessly clean, quite cosy and great for overnight. Would recommend and definitely use again.

This was a really great hotel at an incredible price! Booked this for 4 of us with only minimal research and upon arrival was a little worried at the location and a few other things. Within 10 minutes any potential issues were sorted. It turned out we were very close (10 minute walk or 5 minute car journey) to the tram station that took us straight to downtown Cologne in 20 minutes. The rooms were clean, neat, and had everything we could need. Great little bathroom with a nice big shower. Only complaint is the toilet smelt a bit off, however we didn't complain or ask anyone about this so it may have been an easy fix.

Stayed here for carnival weekend, a nice hotel, clean, good sized twin room and powerful shower. S-Bahn is a 15 min walk, but worth it for hotel value, trains are regular. Not much glamorous about Frechen location, basically a retail park, but it proved to be a good base. €18 for two day travel card. €25 for taxi to Cologne, or €55 to airport.

Stayed over here for a quick one night stop and have never been in a hotel before that had so many issues. Issues I had encountered. 1) The toilet reeked of faeces before it has been used 2) The room was cramped and tiny 3) The aircon does not work 4) The bed sheets were yellow in some patches 5) Location is terrible, with unsavory people hanging outside the hotel constantly 6) No safe 7) No minibar 8) Would not take the bag as storage, in the modern day when people have an abundance of gadgets - it doesnt feel good to hide iPads, Kindles & laptops in the boot of our car 9) Got a beautiful view of the motorway from the bedroom 10) The breakfast - for €10 was cold cuts of ham, cheese, scrambled eggs and three croissants available. Not good enough. 11) The receptionist, despite a nametag explaining he spoke English, was unable to communicate in English. 12) Panflits and adverts on the reception desk included three for escort call out services, something I find very unsavoury. On the plus side, it is quite cheap - but it definately feels it, and we were there one night. I'll never again visit any Ibis, as it is just not worth the money.
