1 STAR — DO NOT BOOK THROUGH AGODA — ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Families, PLEASE think twice before using Agoda. I will NEVER book through this website again. We booked a Wyndham hotel through Agoda for an overnight stay while traveling on vacation. Agoda advertised this property as a 3.5-star hotel. After what we experienced, I honestly cannot understand how Agoda could rate or advertise this property that way. We arrived at approximately 12:00 AM with two small children after traveling all day. The moment we arrived, we were immediately uncomfortable. There were people who appeared to be severely intoxicated or impaired, and a glass door on the side of the hotel was completely shattered. Then we walked into our room. The room had a horrible, disgusting smell. There was what appeared to be HUMAN FECES smeared across the mirror and dresser. The sheets were dirty. This was not a matter of the room being outdated or not meeting our expectations — the room was completely unacceptable and unsanitary. We had TWO SMALL CHILDREN with us. We did what any parent would do: we immediately packed our children back into the car at midnight and left. We had to search for another hotel in the middle of the night and pay for another place to stay because the hotel Agoda sold us was not somewhere we were willing to put our children. And then Agoda made an already horrible situation even worse. We contacted Agoda for a refund. Instead of taking responsibility for the property they advertised and helping us immediately, they told us they needed to contact the hotel first. We waited more than a WEEK for this to be resolved. That is completely unacceptable customer service. Agoda took our money, advertised this hotel as 3.5 stars, and then left us to deal with the consequences when the property was nowhere near the standard they represented. Agoda needs to seriously reconsider the properties they advertise and the ratings they put in front of customers. A hotel with conditions like what we encountered should NEVER be presented to families as a 3.5-star property. I trusted Agoda’s website when booking our vacation. That trust is gone. I will NEVER book through Agoda again, and I strongly encourage other families — especially anyone traveling with young children — to BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS WEBSITE. Don’t assume that because Agoda says a hotel is 3.5 stars, that means it is actually a clean, safe, acceptable place for your family to stay. Our children should never have had to be loaded back into a car at midnight because of the condition of a hotel room Agoda recommended. AGODA — YOU LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE.
