Hotel St. Francis is well situated in Santa Fe with a great aesthetic. The evening staff, led by Gabe at check in was excellent. The day staff was rude and dismissive; it was a bizarre contrast of experiences.
The room itself was well enough appointed. Clean with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was not reliable, and opening windows led to moths in the room.
There was also an amenities charge of $30 per day but the only amenities I received was bottled water, and parking was extra. The bar is cool, food limited.
Value was fair but you can probably do just as well if not better, elsewhere.

I was in Santa Fe for Indian Market, which I attend every August. Loved this hotel, but will not stay here again. The entire check-out experience on the last day of the Market was shockingly sub-standard. The polite but poorly trained staff did the very best they could under difficult circumstances. When I went to check out, there was no one in sight. I finally saw a member of the housekeeping staff and asked her if anyone was around. A GUEST nearby told me there was one guy working and was out helping someone. He finally returned, clearly frazzled, but polite. Doing the best he could. I then went out to the Valet, where, again, no one was to be seen. All told it took 25 minutes for me to get my car, because they had 1 guy working. Again, he was clearly doing the best he could. All the kids working on the staff are nice and polite but have ZERO professional training in customer service, hotel management, how you speak to guests, etc. This hotel NEEDS to have more than 1 person at reception and valet. Ironically enough, I also stayed at a Best Western in Albuquerque where all the staff were kids in their 20s, and every single one of them were well-trained in hotel management etiquette. It was very impressive. For the amount the Hotel St. Francis charges for rooms, it was unacceptable. They should do better.
