The Coupole is by far one of the most prestigious rooms you can find in Europe, up till every detail of the room. Excellent and very kind reception service, which is difficult to find these days!!!

Liked the proximity to the Grand Place and other restaurants and shopping. Upscale hotel. Bed was comfy. One of the individuals at reception had very poor English but tried hard. Air Conditioning was not effective. One of the dresser drawers was broken and wouldn't close and then the handle broke off. Mosquitos in the room (second floor). Coffee maker only dispensed small volumes of coffee.

Location of hotel is good and central. Disappointments are having to pay / hold 200Euros for our one night stay when room is fully paid for prior via Expedia. Staff with air of smugness stating its company policy ! This most certainly not published as part of hotel details when booking. They would not budge, and forced to pay it and then await the up to 7. -14 Days for them to return my monies which they took in seconds. Having stayed in numerous 4 and 5 star properties through Expedia, this is not common practice and certainly a first having to pay 200 Euros on top of the room price, so in essence paying double, so no 4 star service to justify these costs at all. Other hotels if they have to charge a preauthorisation, normally hold card details and if necessary charge a max 50 Euros to be refunded on check out all going well. 200 Euros must cover the overpriced mini bar in the room, which was avoided profusely. This property is in need of refurbishment, bit old and tired and perhaps 4 star standard needs to be revisited. These comments were shared with the staff upon check out too. Breakfast was good. Would I stay again, probably not.

Fantastic location, nice hotel. Stayed in a privilege room but multiple lights, power sockets and bathroom extractor fan not working. Small shower with no curtain or guard which meant the bathroom floor flooded every time the shower was used.

The hotel is quite nice and the location is top notch. Yet, there were quite a few disappointing things about our stay. First and foremost, we were looking forward to keeping our workout routine with the fitness room inside the hotel. In fact, you can’t do really much in that “fitness room”. There is one real machine inside for targeting the pectoral area. Outside of that, there is basically nothing. Not a single free weight. The sauna is in the same room with no real cover. So - if you decide to use the sauna, there could be people working out in front of the sauna’s glass door. The second thing we were looking forward to was the panorama bar. Unfortunately, the chairs and our table were pretty dirty and the waiter didn’t even bother cleaning it. Plus, the drinks weren’t that good. Lastly, we needed to open the water faucet in our room completely in order for it to work. Otherwise it would just shut down immediately. We needed a lot of force to close the bathroom door. And sorry for that information but still: The toilet is too small for a normally grown man. Your “best friend” is touching the inner verge of the toilet which is quite disgusting….

The location of the hotel was perfect for restaurants and winter walking aroind the old town. The hotel was clean and we had a good sized room and nice view but the interiors were tired and limited information for tv etc. The breakfasts were excellent but average service.This hotel would be great with a general refurb.

Beautiful hotel and lovely room. Great staff. The hotel is right in the center of town so access is easy to everywhere, but I recommend walking because traffic is a little crazy. The room itself was very clean and well decorated, but in the toilet room (which was separate from the sink/shower room) there is a slight sewer odor. However, I stayed in other places in Lille, and I have found the same thing to be true in those places as well. So I think it is a common problem for the city of Lille, and not necessarily something that the hotel has control of. With the door to the toilet room closed, there was no smell in the rest of the room.

Great location in the centre of Lille. Rooms were lovely. Breakfast was expensive so we ate out - there are many lovely cafes nearby. Parking was a problem. We didn’t realise until we arrived that the hotel has a car park which, as it turned out, was fully booked. We were directed to the car park on the Grand Place. We managed to get a space there on Thursday when we arrived but on Saturday we discovered the whole area was pedestrianised, possibly due to the Christmas market. We spent 3 hours in traffic (not an exaggeration) looking for a car park within walking distance of the hotel with an available space. I feel the hotel staff should have made us aware that streets would be closed off.

It was very good stay . location is amazing all walking distance in a heart of Lille ( city centre ) breakfast wasn’t too bad !!! nice indeed !! Room clean and spacious but shower not that great !!! at arrival wasn’t any offer of drink or even a glass of water so welcoming was ok ca va !!! at the reception they were all very good & helpful especially Miss DUNIA she was so nice helpful and amazing what i didn’t like that they charged my card €200 extra deposit on the top of my room rate ) and it was no bar in my room i believe it was too much !!!! And I didn’t like Over all was a nice and pleasant stay i will stay again in hotel Carlton if am in Lille

Ideal location, in the middle of all thats hot & happening (shops, culture, station, casino, ...) but that to me is the only good thing. Rooms are reasonably sized but a lot of wear & tear (chipped furniture, broken make up mirror, ...) and bad maintenance (the outside windows of our balcony where in a deplorable condition). Breakfast (not even worth mentioning) is served in the same place where they serve cocktails in the evening, a dark gloomy 'bar'. Price/quality this hotel is a huge miss.

A lovely hotel for an overnight stay at the end of our holiday before travelling back on Eurostar. Great location and good size rooms with very friendly reception staff. We found it walkable to and from Lille Europe. We didn't take the hotel breakfast, so cannot comment on food. Would recommend and like to return for a longer visit sometime.
