    It's a beautifully maintained older hotel, it is indeed still an older hotel so you can expect to see signs of wear but ultimately it is a beautiful space with sizable rooms, clean bedding, and fantastic service. It's across the street from a Casino , close to the border crossing to Windsor ON, and is easily walkable to most of downtown Detroit. I recommend a stay here!

    I have stayed here a few times and has been nice for the space and cost. I do think the rooms need some major overhaul. We were upgrades to a Jacuzzi suite in the corner and the windows are not very large making the room very dark. The shower made a horrible sound on the bottom and felt like you were going to fall through. Please update this beautiful hotel.

    I believe it is over priced. The hotel is outdated, hotel floor hallways, walls need to be updated. Only one elevator was working the entire 2day stay. One time there was a line to stand in from the lobby to the elevator as we guests awaited to get onto the only working elevator. The hotel rates are extremely above the top. Atheneum use to be top notch. Its giving 2-star now and the prices should reflect as such
