Good place for the price. Wonderful location. I really enjoyed staying there. The gatekeepers, all of them were great and put a smile on your face. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Cartagena is just such a lovely place to walk. All the flowers and the beautiful homes and their architecture. Wonderful City. The host was very good to us. The balcony was really neat. I always love having a balcony in Cartagena so you can look down the really cool streets at night. Comfortable beds. I would definitely return at the current price for 2026.

If you want to go to beautiful Caribbean beaches, go to the Rosario Islands. You will be in a beautiful Caribbean atmosphere. I would avoid the beaches near Cartagena and also do a thorough research of many of the surrounding beaches including playa Blanca before you settle on one. Lots of vendors who hassle you on some of the beaches, especially playa Blanca. My two adult sons and I had a wonderful time after resisting seven or eight young men who wanted to charge us to head down towards the beach. I've run into a few people like that across the world when I went to certain parts of certain countries, so I'm used to how to handle it, but it would scare the hell out of a lot of people who haven't experienced it, including concerns that it may get violent. The reason I think we enjoyed it once we shook them off at playa Blanca, is that we had this awesome Uber driver named John who took us from Cartagena all the way to playa Blanca for a reasonable price and stayed for 4 hours and then took us back all for a very fair price. I don't think I would travel on a bus to playa Blanca, I think it's probably too risky. And definitely, if you take a taxi or an Uber you better make sure they're going to stay and take you back to Cartagena because I didn't see any taxis at sunset when we left and the van that pulled up to see if we wanted a ride wasn't something I would get in. So I would definitely plan out a trustworthy person who will take you there stay and bring you back. It was wonderful having John with us, especially when we confronted those young people in the parking lot. There are tons of comments if you research Playa Blanca about all kinds of uncomfortable experiences with people who won't leave you alone on the beach and of course as. I mentioned a bit threatening even when you get out of your transport and walk towards the beach.
