About this cottage rental

This comfortable converted weaver's shed is in a secluded glen overlooking Broad Bay yet is only 20 minutes from Stornoway and even closer to spectacular sandy beaches. It is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists or
anyone wishing to explore the natural beauty, culture and history of the Outer Hebrides.
The accommodation consists of a living/sleeping area with double bed, easy chairs, dining table and kitchenette. The separate bathroom has a sunken bath, power shower, sauna and hand basin.
No wifi, no signal, no worries!
Check in between 4pm and 10pm

I really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful located, peaceful and remote. The Glen is wonderful. The Weaver House was so cosy and exeeded my - with lovely interior and much more space than the Inserat is suggesting. Susie is a very thoughtful and friendly host and so are the pony Noah and the two dogs.

A cosy hideaway in a gorgeous location. The shed is a little bit larger than it looks in the photos, with a small sauna, bathtub and shower. We were certainly comfortable during our stay! Susie is super friendly and easy to get hold of, and we felt very welcome. We arrived by local bus, and exploring Lewis by bus is doable, but requires a tiny bit of planning since buses are not super frequent. We would love to come back to Lewis and the shed!

Loved the serenity. The sauna, large bath were very good. The small views from the window were charming with a bird feeder strategically placed for bird watching. The bed was comfortable. The refrigerator was miniscule (I was told prior to arrival it was"bench height") - it was knee height. Don't make the mistake I did and stock up on fresh food, there's barely any space. The cooking facilities were likewise minimalist. Less than one square foot of free benchspace. A constant and annoying juggle to cook a meal. On arrival I was anticipating meeting the welcoming and friendly, helpful host I had read about in reviews. Susie was in a rush, a long list of what shouldn't do, a reluctance to explain the workings of the cottage and a hurried departure. Thankfully her husband was far more forthcoming with local advise. I did appreciate, however, Susie giving me antihistamines as I developed an extremely uncomfortable allergic reaction to some plant or pollen on her property. I was, after 3 days spent indoors due to illhealth, able to drive around Lewis and enjoy it's beauty.

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage - it is very comfortable and has gorgeous views and a lovely sauna and bathtub which made for a relaxing stay! Susie was incredibly friendly and welcoming and gave us great tips on things to do locally. Couldn’t recommend enough!

We had a very friendly welcoming arrival from Susie. Her directions to get to property were excellent.The cottage was bigger than it looked in the pictures. It was snug and cosy and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for our stay. And it smelled so nice. We loved the view and the remote location. Susie is a very thoughtful host. There was some home baking when we arrived, a little vase of fresh flowers and fresh eggs! The sauna was a bonus!

Very small but well-kept shed with a great wellness area that takes up almost half of the room. The shed was cosy and there was everything you need for 2 people. However, there is very little space for the own things, so we only took the essentials into the shed and left the rest in the car, which was parked a short distance away. We also had to improvise a little in the kitchen due to the lack of space and the very small fridge. Overall, however, it was a very nice stay in absolute peace and quiet and with a fantastic view of the sea. We would love to come back.

The Weavers Shed was very cosy. It was in a very peaceful location and the view from the window was beautiful looking down to the bay and the sea. We saw deer out of the window. The shower and bath were lovely and it was good to come home to these after being out in the wind (and sometimes rain). Susie was very helpful and gave us good information on things to see locally. We were also welcomed with home made brownies! Thank you.

Susie was quite friendly and a wonderful host. The weaver’s shed is quaint, peaceful, and wonderful. Susie left us homemade lemon cake when we checked in and half a dozen fresh eggs we could make for breakfast. The shed overlooks a valley with a burn leading to a sea cove and it’s just a great spot if you want some peace after a day’s activities. I highly recommend staying here!

Weaver's shed is a beautiful cosy wee cottage in a great secluded location with breathtaking views and only a short drive from Stornoway. I love that theres no wifi or TV and only just enough phone signal to send a quick text, perfect for a mindful retreat! I particularly enjoyed the luxurious bath and sauna that really made me relax and unwind. The host was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Susan's, the shed is wonderful, it provided the kind of experience we expected. Susan welcomed us with home-made cake and eggs, and she was very helpful and reactive. Nice communication. We definitely recommend this place to dicover Harris and Lewis!

Ideal for a couple of nights of peace and quiet in a location which feels remote but is actually not too far from Stornoway. The property is small but has everything you need, and the sauna in the bathroom is a rather nice extra.

Perfect place to sit back and relax in a very quiet setting. Nice getaway for the two of us. Susie left us some eggs and a few treats which we were grateful to enjoy. Easy access to Stornoway and other attractions on the island. Susie was helpful when checking in and kind to give us some morning tips for a days adventures. The cottage is tucked in behind the main house, very cozy and private. Susie was a wonderful host and offered a lot if insight to the history of the people on Lewis. She was also a good source for suggestions on what to see and do. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Must walk around owners home to apartment. Next to the rooster coop crowing for one hour each morning. Bed against the wall very uncomfortable hard bed. No cooking utensils. Half the apartment is dedicated to the bathroom.

A great base to explore both Lewis and Harris. Easy reach of Stornaway and the ferry. Two beautiful beaches, within 15 minute drive north. This is a lovely, little building, with a great view from the open plan lounge/bedroom. There is a small kitchen area and a microwave and electric hot plate. The bathroom has a shower, bath and sauna and is modern. The converted Weaver’s shed is set away from the owners’ property and is very quiet. Susie and her husband were very friendly and informative regarding the island and things to do/places to visit. My partner and I loved staying here. Thank you!

A very lovely detached building with amazing sea views. The space is bright and airy with an exceptional bathroom and sauna. It's a good spot to explore different parts of the island. Susan was kind and very helpful and she was there to greet us and help us settle in with lovely welcome cake waiting on the table.
