West Lake State Guest House

The property is obviously one of the icons of Hangzhou. It hosted many important celebrities from all over the world and leaders in the mainland since the midst of the last century. It is also located by the Lakeside and has maintained a great garden, and therefore, granted the Hotel a greater advantage for visitors to choose among all other hotels in the area.

Staying in the hotel for two nights, I found it extremely difficult to book a place and dine in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel, because they obviously did not give priority to accommodating guests. To make the situation worse, the Chinese restaurant obviously serves a great number of guests not staying in the hotel. Although the restaurant has a booking system that’s allow guests to queue up for a table, which we did right after we checked in for the first night, we had to wait until 8 pm before we were told that’s our table was ready. Moreover, the price of the food was exceptionally expensive. Although they serve good food, the price of restaurants in Hangzhou with similar standard was only half the price of that in the Hotel. The Hotel offers free afternoon tea from 2 pm to 5 pm. If you will stay at the Hotel, please make sure you check in early.

It’s a garden hotel. Very special place to spend the weekend. Connect directly to west lake.

Everything was perfect, from the staff to the environment. The lobby, for instance, is stunning and a very warm welcome to the property. Also, great location by the lake, so you get to view the lake privately.

入住時三間房只準備了一間，與長輩同行，但房間安排很遠，後來有協助換房。第三間房等了超過1個半小時尚未整理好，待整理好後，房型與所定的房型不一致，後來協助換房，換成親子房，但等候時間過久。此外退房查房也很久，查房時說孩子住的房的有償茶葉被拿走了、詢問住房的孩子說沒拿，入住時就沒有看到有這個有償茶葉，雖然飯店最後沒有收取費用，但仍覺得這樣給住客不太舒服的感受。
