A vacation at the Reissnerhof Mountain Cabin means finding peace, sharing unforgettable moments together, and creating lasting memories.
The renovated mountain cabin is situated in a completely secluded location at 1,300 meters above sea level with a beautiful view. It is a former mountain farmhouse that we renovated in 2020. Our cabin is spacious and furnished with lots of love and care. In addition to the well-equipped kitchen, we made sure to preserve the character of the house. Wood-burning stoves and infrared heating panels radiate cozy warmth and natural charm. We’re especially proud of our new terrace, where you can enjoy the day no matter the weather—sun, rain, or snow.
In every season, this sunny spot offers plenty of time to relax and recharge. Leave your everyday life behind, relax in the peaceful and beautiful countryside, or immerse yourself in the diverse vacation attractions of the Murau region. Around the cabin, there’s plenty of space for our children to play in nature, as well as for barbecuing or enjoying a delicious breakfast in the morning sun.
Whether it’s mountain adventures or relaxing excursions to lakes, alpine huts, or nature experiences in the region. From spring through fall, you can enjoy hiking, biking, or a refreshing swim. There are also many interesting experiences for our children in our region.
From the Reissnerhof mountain lodge, you have excellent access to the Kreischberg, Lachtal, and Krakau ski areas. Whether it’s cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, or winter hiking, everything is possible in our area.
Visiting us for the first time? No worries! We’ll take you right to the lodge, where we’ll explain our house rules in a relaxed atmosphere. The lodge is easily accessible by car via a forest road. While we make every effort to clear the forest road in winter, we highly recommend bringing snow chains—it’s both advisable and beneficial in our region.

Reissnerhof Mountain Cabin:
• Bed linens, towels, and dish towels are provided.
• Bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and infrared heating.
• Living room with TV and pull-out couch.
• First time staying with us? No worries!
• Directions to our farm—we’ll escort you to the cabin.
On-site costs: Good to know! Our mountain cabin costs €105 (per night) in the summer and €110 per night for up to 2 people. We charge €15 (per night) for each additional person. Final cleaning and local tax are extra. The price includes bed linens, towels, firewood, and electricity. A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. The full amount can be paid by bank transfer or in cash upon arrival. Shops are a 15-minute drive away. The Murau farm shop offers many regional farm products! Weekly market every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Murau’s main square. Countless hiking trails lead to alpine pastures and mountain huts, and Bergseen. In the mountain huts serve delicious, regional dishes to refuel. Outdoor and indoor swimming pools are very close by. Ski resorts: Kreischberg, Grebtzen, and Lachtal are easily accessible. Ski tours: Frauenalpe, Preber, and GreimStyr. Wood Museum, Murau Movie Theater, Murau Brewery, Golf, Climbing in Oberwölz, and excellent inns nearby where you can treat yourself:
