Comfort and Ambiance
Nestle into the tree tops in this beautiful cabin, offering ambiance and comfort to perfect your Blue Ridge vacation. This centrally-located home has three wide, covered decks for enjoying the great outdoors, as well as upscale features inside and plenty of beds and bathrooms.
Being in the mountains means convening with nature, whether you're gathered around the fire pit, dining al fresco, or just chilling on the porch with a good book. Do it all here at Hibernation Station, while enjoying the convenience of a beautifully-equipped home to call your own.
Entering the main level, you'll find a spacious open floor plan, with a comfortable living area including a TV and inviting stone fireplace. Just flip the switch for ambiance! The dining area is adjacent, with a table for 8 and extra seating at the wide kitchen island. The lovely, updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless appliances (including a dishwasher) and is well-stocked with all the kitchenware and supplies you'll need for entertaining and family meals. These areas are surrounded by decking, so you're never more than a few steps from that outdoor living you've been looking forward to.
The master bedroom is another great feature on the main level, with a comfy king-size bed and private bathroom. The master bath features a dual vanity, large whirlpool tub and separate walk-in-shower. Step straight out onto the deck from the master, to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or a late-night toddy. There's an additional half bath on the main level as well.
Upstairs find two additional bedrooms, each furnished with three beds, for a total of four twin beds, one queen and one king upstairs, with a large bathroom to share. But that's not all! The third level downstairs has a game room with a pool table, an additional full bath, and direct access to the lower-level deck.

Hibernation Station is centrally located just off 221. From this home base you can easily enjoy a huge variety of attractions and outdoor recreation. Downtown West Jefferson is only 10-12 minutes away, with restaurants and terrific shopping, including antique stores, art galleries and wine tasting. This is small-town Americana at its finest. Exploring Main Street, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. Here you'll find the famous Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, with an old-fashioned country store. There's Craft Bistro for fine dining, two breweries and even two movie theaters!
Drive a little further to Boone or Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Tour the campus of Appalachian State University, or visit our craft breweries. And remember that here in Blue Ridge Country, the journey is as satisfying as the destination, with gorgeous scenery at every turn.
In spring or summer, the New River offers tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Warmer months are also a perfect time for horseback riding, and sightseeing or bicycling along the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing or ice skating at one of the many area resorts. West Jefferson also has one of the region's most scenic and well-maintained public golf courses, Mountain Aire.

Don't hesitate, book today! We were looking for a cabin to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday with family that was roomy, private, a get away from work life to relax for the weekend and this cabin gave that plus more! There were only 4 of us but the cabin can sleep up to 14 easily, so we definitely had room to spread out. Three floors with 2 huge bedrooms on the 3rd floor with a shared bathroom. Main floor had living room, kitchen, dining room, half bath and master bedroom with bath. First floor had game room with bunk beds, laundry, and bathroom. Bathrooms also had everything we needed like hairdryer, makeup mirror, and plenty of towels. The downstairs (pool table room) area was great, cabin had tons of games to play. Kitchen had absolutely everything we needed, the most fully equipped rental I have stayed at from kitchenware, blankets, pillows, games, bathroom items and more. House has plenty of seating for big groups. Desks were the perfect spot to hang out and enjoy nature, area was very quite and peaceful. Upon arrival a deer was standing in front yard, after staring at us for a few moments to welcome us it walked back in the trees. There is a path off the outdoor seating area but it rained our first evening and we explored the downtown our second evening so we didn’t get a chance to walk the trail. Check in/ check out process went very smoothly, We have no negative feedback what so ever, would and will 100% rent again! Thank you for sharing your home. 5 's!

We arrived with snow! The house was just perfect. So well equipped. Tastefully decorated, including touches of Fall. Everything about this house is comfort. While we didn't get to enjoy the very conveniently located fire pit, due to HEAVY winds, we do plan to come back to make that possible. I cannot say enough about this location.

Hibernation Station is such a wonderful property and very accommodating. So clean, Kitchen well stocked, cozy den, fun board games and playing pool downstairs (way too cold, snowy and frigid wind to play outside this last weekend . ❄️❄️❄️ Be prepared for steep driveway and you definitely need 4-wheel drive in winter if calling for snow. Would love to go back in the Fall so we could enjoy the firepit. West Jefferson is such a quaint little town with great shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying at this cabin and visiting West Jefferson!!
