About this house rental
Casa Carmen is a traditional Canarian country house with a small vineyard on the plot of land below the house. The house itself offers approximately 80 square meters of living space and can accommodate up to 4 people. The highlight is the large wooden terrace, built in 2017, which offers views of the entire surrounding area—including the vineyards of Las Manchas all the way to the sea.

Casa Carmen captivates with its Canarian charm, featuring beautiful wooden ceilings, wooden windows, and double doors.
You enter the house through the terrace into the living room, from which all other rooms branch off. To the left are the two bedrooms, straight ahead is the bathroom, and to the right is the kitchen with the dining area.
The kitchen has a door leading outside and a large window overlooking the terrace and the sea. A small counter separates the main kitchen area—with its kitchenette and cabinets—from the dining table with five chairs.
The cozy living area, featuring a sofa, two armchairs, and satellite TV, also includes a small desk and a reading nook stocked with German books. On cold winter days, you can warm up by the fireplace.
Right in front of the house is a covered terrace with a table and chairs. The large, newly built wooden deck has space for two lounge chairs, a parasol, and a small table. From here, you have a beautiful view of the grapevines nestled in black lava sand as well as the ocean. A small separate terrace offers a lovely spot to enjoy the sunset. A small grill is also available.

• 1 bedroom with two single beds (0.90 x 1.90 m)

The location close to the new lava flow and the closure of many important roads made getting about very challenging. Most of the local restaurants and shops were closed post covid and the eruption and not knowing this in advance meant we couldn't properly plan for this.
However, the villa itself, and Carmen whom I met briefly, were fabulous. Amazing views and just about everything you could imagine you would ever need was in the villa. There was even a lovely bottle of local red wine.
More transparency from the Vrbo about the effects on local shops and restaurants would have massively improved the experience.
