The Deichhaus Nordstrand vacation home
was renovated in 2020 and has further enhanced its fresh, inviting atmosphere for both regular guests and new vacationers with its walls painted in the colors of the dike—a stunning color combination.
It is located right next to the Rotes Atelierhaus and accommodates 4 (max. 5) people.
It features 1 living room/bedroom in the attic, 1 bedroom + 1 living room with a sleeper sofa on the first floor, and 1 modern, walk-in wellness shower room with a toilet on the first floor, complete with ample storage space.
The living room on the first floor features tasteful furnishings, including a new (sleeper) sofa set, a cozy reading chair, an electric fireplace, satellite TV, a stereo system with an iPod docking station, a radio, CD and DVD players, and a high-speed Wi-Fi connection. Books and games for entertainment can also be found here.
The kitchen of the Deichhaus is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, stove with oven, and everything you need (coffee maker, toaster, kettle, blender, an extensive, well-assorted, beautiful set of stoneware dishes, and much more—all of which go without saying), as well as a lovely dining area with a view of the vast fields of the North German countryside, just like the living room, which shares the same line of sight. The eye-catcher in the kitchen is the light green retro freestanding refrigerator with a freezer compartment.
The downstairs bedroom is decorated in light blue and white nautical tones, with a new double bed at a comfortable height (54 cm, sleeping surface: 180 x 200 cm, 2 mattresses), 2 nightstands, 1 storage chest, and a wardrobe.
The upper level features a large, bright living-bedroom suite. Here you’ll find the second bed with a sleeping surface of 180 x 200 cm (two 90-cm mattresses), 2 nightstands, 2 additional linen chests along with a wooden bench, and another seating area featuring a cozy sleeper sofa and a reading chair with a footstool (and a second small stereo system) for relaxing, reading, or daydreaming.
New: The retro desk with a view of the garden and out over the fields, which rounds out the room and makes you want to write a postcard again...
Also, the Deichhaus features a lovingly fresh yet relaxing and cozy, modern Frisian interior and magnificent views to the east, south, and west—meaning plenty of light and fresh air all day long—and its own beach chair in the outdoor area from spring through fall.
Both sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed to the fullest.
The bright, on-site utility room in the basement (which can also be used by tenants of the Red Studio House) is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, ironing board, iron, and infrared sauna, and was also renovated in 2020.
Tenants may use 2 bicycles free of charge (these are located in the utility room or in the shed next to the Atelierhaus).
Additional bicycles can be rented on the island if needed (or the two from the studio house can be used, provided it is not rented out at the same time or the tenants do not need them at the same time).
The utility room also has a crib, a high chair with a stair guard, a toilet seat adapter, and a step stool available as needed.
The beautifully landscaped garden with a hand-woven willow fence is surrounded by a traditional Frisian earthen wall and separates the two buildings from each other; it also offers plenty of outdoor seating, including 2 beach chairs and, in the summer, a seating area for 6 people with a large hardwood table and umbrella, as well as a covered tractor tire serving as a sandbox for our youngest guests.
Ample parking for vehicles is available in the on-site parking lot next to the Red Studio House, as you can leave your car behind—the beach is just down the road, accessible by bike or on foot.
In just a few minutes, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Hallig Nordstrandischmoor, sunsets included.
