About this villa rental
Built in 1896, Quinta do Mosteiro has been a part of the Bouças family for the past four generations. Once a grocery store playing a key role in the daily life of the village, it has been transformed into a charming rural guesthouse since its restoration in 2016.
Guests are welcomed in a cosy environment, where yesterday’s refinement and elegance meet the comfort brought by the contemporary elements.
The indoor spaces coexist harmoniously with the vast outdoors, including terraces, gardens and swimming pool, offering an atmosphere filled with peace, tranquility and well being.
The property was named after the Igreja de Bravães, located a stone’s throw away. Originally built as Benedictine monastery in the late 11th century, this important landmark of the Portuguese Romanesque underwent several modifications throughout the 12th, 15th and 16th centuries, and is currently a parish church.
Igreja de Bravães is classified as a National Monument.

Lovely stay with our large family. Olga was a great help for check in and providing recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Large accommodation with super salt swimming pool which the kids loved. Spacious, light and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Good location too for visiting the national park of Peneda-Geres.

My family and I stayed here for a week- we were 5 adults and 3 children. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for us all both inside and out. The children especially loved the pool which is a great size with poolside sun loungers and a swing hammock. The house is very well equipped and very clean with plenty of towels (for both bathroom and swimming use) with 2 zones of air conditioning.
Olga, the home wonder was very welcoming and we were in contact before the holiday, it helped that she lived in a house on site when we had a few minor issues which she sorted quickly. We didn't feel over looked and were able to relax and enjoy our stay as if staying in our own home.
The house is in a beautiful location, off the tourist trap, surrounded by beautiful scenery. We had wonderful days exploring the local mountains and towns; we especially loved Porto do Lima and Ponte do Barca- the latter has a beautiful river and lagoon perfect for family picnics and paddling.
