About this villa rental
'Villa Lyss' is located in a tranquil and peaceful location in the village of Mellieha found in the northern part of Malta. This stylish apartment is set within an exclusive privately owned villa residence perched on a hilltop. The tastefully decorated apartment has 2 bedrooms, and shares a larger than average pool of 45' x 15', surrounded by a large sundeck area decorated with palm trees and shrubs which add a relaxed feeling together with sun loungers and parasols to compliment the area around the pool.

A very beautiful property. Ray and Maria are very helpful hosts. Thanks again for the ride to the supermarket and the suggestions for excursions. We highly recommend this accommodation. The pool was very nice and the accommodation is spacious. Family Brenner

I don't know how highly I can praise this property, the location, the cleanliness, the owner!
Everything was wonderful from the well kept pool and gardens to the kindness and helpfulness of Ray, our host. It was all perfect and I would highly recommend a stay here. Didn't want to return home.

Lovely to stay with Ray and Maria again; we were last there thirty years ago when our children were small. Apartment 2 is comfortable and spacious and the pool deck is surrounded by palm trees! The weather was mixed so we caught up on Amazon and YouTube series some evenings. The Santa Maria Estate is a peaceful residential area a short walk away from Central Mellieha. We used the running track most days. We hope to return and thank Maria and Ray for sharing their lovely villa with us.

We've just returned from a 2 week holiday in apartment 2 at Villa Lyss.
This is an absolutely gorgeous property. Ray & Maria are perfect hosts, always on hand if you need them but they don't bother you when you just want to relax.
Correspondence with Ray was great from the moment we booked the apartment. As we were arriving late, he put together a welcome pack of the essential supplies. He also arranged for a taxi to collect us from the airport. When we arrived at the apartment, Ray showed us around & explained all the necessary.
The apartment is well maintained, clean & really spacious. The photos online don't do it justice.
The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, kettle, toaster & fridge/freezer. There are plenty of utensils etc. We easily managed to prepare meals when we didn't fancy dining out.
The bedrooms have air conditioning as well as fans, the beds are really comfortable & there is plenty of storage.
There is also air conditioning & a fan in the living area.
The balcony has a table & chairs as well as a clothes airer. The balcony is large & overlooks the pool.
The pool is very big, ideal for swimming or just cooling off. The sunbeds are good quality too. For 10 out of the 14 days we were there, we were the only guests so had the pool area to ourselves.
The villa is in a quiet area but is only a 10 minute walk from the main restaurants in the village. The beach area is about 30 minutes walk but there are lots of buses if you don't fancy the walk.
There is a supermarket 10-15 minutes walk away. Ray offered to collect us from the supermarket on our first day if we wanted to do a big shop. The supermarket also offers a delivery service. It's an easy walk so we didn't mind going most days for what we needed. The supermarket is very well stocked with everything you need for self catering.
There are lots of restaurants within a short walk from the property, we ate out most evenings.
There are bus stops at the top of the road (5 minutes walk) if you want to get around the island.
We wouldn't hesitate to return to this property & we would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday.
