A comfortable home with a responsive host & beautiful views. Very quiet. Little is in walking distance, but it's a short drive to several beaches.

Fort Point Cove Cottage was a delight with beautiful views and comfortable arrangements. We even spotted an eagle and two roosting ospreys during our first few hours there with the binoculars that were in the home. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with additional like coffee pods (which was an unexpected treat!), random cooking spices like salt, as well as ziplocs and other Tupperware containers. There were plenty of fans to help keep the home cool and nighttime was very comfortable with the quilts and bedding. My kids loved having access to well-built cornhole boards as well as the huge backyard.Darlene was extremely communicative and welcoming. Instructions for departure were very clear. The only downside was that the third bed was located in a lofted area, not an actual bedroom, but that is in the listing and was not a surprise to us - it just would've been nice to have an actual bedroom, but the location on the bay well made up for it.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Darlene made sure to list several restaurants and activities nearby.

Private and peaceful stay. House is filled with great energy. It’s beautiful, clean, spacious, and well equipped. The backyard was amazing with the view of the bay, ample seating, and outdoor dining table. We loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the deck with hummingbirds hovering just above our heads coming to the feeder. We were also visited by a flock of turkeys in the early evenings.Darlene is a great host; communicating with us before, during, and after our stay.

Family of four adults just spent 2 weeks at Fort Point Cove Cottage. Could not have made a better choice. The “cottage” had everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked. Grill for outdoor cooking. Comfortable beds. Large screened-in porch, cool even on the hottest days. Big screen TV for evening movies. A view of Fort Point Cove and the mouth of the Penobscot River. Privacy from neighbors. Bucksport, only minutes away, for all of the essentials. The perfect place to unwind. We found FPCC an excellent location from which to explore Downeast. Camden, Rockport, Belfast, Acadia National Park, and Schoodic Point are all an easy drive for a day trip; we visited them all. Our longest drive for a day trip was to Boothbay Harbor, a 1.5 hours drive. Our recommendations: Young’s Lobster Pound in Belfast, Otter’s Waterfront Eatery in Castine, Big Chicken Barn Books for used books and antiques in Orland, downtown Camden (don’t miss Lily Lupine and Fern for wine; proprietor knows his stuff), and the Littlefield Gallery in Winter Harbor. No trouble in finding your own favorites. The owner, Darlene, great to work with, was readily available for any and all questions or concerns; she checked in regularly by text to be sure we had everything we needed. I recommend FPCC and will book it again in the future.
