The total privacy country house in Alentejo Litoral

Two of us stayed at Maria’s Courela do Salgueiro for a week and a half. We loved our time there: - The house is a perfect base for exploring the Alentejo region. It provides easy day trip access (by car) to places such as Porto Covo, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Sines, Melides…. It is close to Santiago do Cacém for grocery shopping and eating. And is within 15 minute’s walk to the Rota Vincentina, which is a beautiful walking trail. - Maria is a welcoming hostess. And when we asked for more firewood, she was very responsive and dropped it off the very next day. - The house is warmly decorated with local flair: crafts and cork bowls. It was immaculately clean and welcoming for our arrival. There is a nice covered patio on the side of the house where we often relaxed, ate our meals, and watched the swallows building their nest. The swimming pool is clean and inviting, and would be refreshing in the summer. (We visited in late February.)

We would like say thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay and the attentive hospitality of Maria. It is a little paradise, quiet, well kept, clean, garnished with a fantastic pool. We will gladly come back! Sincerely, Benno & Francisca

It is a wonderful private house, quite a distance from the nearest neighbours. The outside space is even better than the photographs show. Garden is greener and the pool bigger than I was expecting. Welcomed with the basics bread , milk coffee etc so no need to rush out as soon as you arrive. simple and very clean in the house, perfect for 6 adults staying. Only thing missing for a British group was a kettle, might well of been one but we didn't find it. Fresh white linen on the beds and towels on arrival. Greeted on arrival and responded to our enquires on the phone really promptly even when we managed to lock ourselves out one evening! Really relaxed and enjoyable setting for our holiday.
