A wonderful place with enough trees and other plant species, right on the beach. Although there was a lot of other guests, everyone had their own peace, the accommodation units are far enough from each other that everyone has their own privacy.
The toilets are extremely clean, as is the shared kitchen, where you can prepare your own meals.
Also, the tavern that is part of this is particularly magical, wonderful music, a view of the beach and excellent food at quite normal prices.
I would also like to praise the staff who went out of their way to meet us for everything we asked for.
There is a big market only 10 minutes walking and some restaurants nearby. Rethymno city center is some 4 km away which is a nice walk in the evening. Also, some 10 minutes after you start walking towards the center there are already many restaurants and caffes.
The beach is beautiful, the only drawback is that it is pebbly, there are also larger stones, so on days when the waves are big, it is difficult to enter the sea, since the waves literally throw pebbles and stones towards the beach and potential swimmers. The positive side is that the beach has very few people and gives you peace.
Shortly, Camping Elizabeth is a piece of heaven on Earth :)
I came with children and though we enjoyed this place a lot and I felt very safe and peaceful, the waves that were really high on the days of our vacation made it impossible for children to swim or enter the sea properly.
This will not be a problem if one rents a car and goes to other beaches. Or walks to the long beach that takes you toward city center (it is only a kilometar of two away from Camping Elizabeth).
Regardless of this I still consider this place to be heaven on Earth :)

Staff is friendly, canvas tent was clean, linen and towels were provided and changed once per 1 week stay. Also they provided a powerful fan. It helped a bit. Anyway it was too hot inside until sunset (but I expected that). Free sunbeds for beach usage. There’s some shade under trees at the beach gate. Also you can take an umbrella. Showers and toilets were clean enough. Hot water in the morning and in the evening. Also there’s place to handwash your cloth. A lot of drinking taps, beach shower. Taverna is ok. Nothing special about food but atmosphere is welcoming.
It would be 10 if tents, mobile homes weren’t so close to each other. It was overcrowded in august:( Everyone with kids, they make a lot of noise since early morning till late night. I felt like I was in kindergarten. Adults also felt free to behave loud at night. So my stay was not relaxing at all. I wish guests were more respectful to each other’s peace. I stayed in hostel before and I can confidently say that was much more chilling atmosphere.
Also take into account that the sea here is not calm, there’re big waves almost all days. But it’s not camp fail of course. It’s just a coastal feature.

We rented 2 bungalows which were nice and comfy, with basic facilities. The wet rooms were spacious and tidy. The taverna at the campsite offered breakfast and very good choice for dinner. The beautiful beach was just couple of steps away.
For a family of four, renting 2 bungalows, makes it slightly more expensive than other options.
