I am extremely surprised at the many positive reviews that this super host has received because she was MIA (missing in action) and certainly didn’t come to the party when it came to us and our stay! As instructed on the booking email we attempted to make contact with Sonia as we needed to arrange access and confirm a check-in time. We left Seattle in the morning and our drive to Whistler took approximately 6 hours (we stopped twice). On route to Whistler we attempted to contact Sonia four times and only received a voicemail- we were unable to leave her a voicemail as her mailbox was full. We then left multiple messages through the Booking.com app but received no response. Our whole trip through Squamish and leading up to Whistler was totally ruined as we had a baby with us and were both in such a state about our accommodation (which we had paid in full) and whether or not we would be able to access it. We were scheduled to check in at 4pm and at 2pm (an hour away from Whistler) we contacted Booking. com Customer Service who were extremely sympathetic, apologetic and helpful - they also tried to contact Sonia but to no avail! We finally arrived at Whistler and decided to go directly to the property at Glacier Lodge. Fortunately for us, the front desk had the authority to override Sonia and were able to check us in, however, there was no record of our booking on their system and their main concern was that the property had not been cleaned in preparation for our arrival - so this meant an even later check- in. We were exhausted after the long drive and all we needed was our lodgings so that we could shower, bath and feed our baby and get him to bed but we ended up sitting at the local park with an extremely tired and miserable baby waiting for our condo to be prepared! When we finally got into our condo and unpacked we encountered more problems!
