Hôtel Dar Terrae

Great little hotel in heart of the Medina, short stroll from the main plaza. Welcoming staff and a great breakfast. Would highly recommend. The rooftop view at sunset is a must.

The hot water was kwirky however and I don't think the cheaper rooms have aircon. There was a little heater which we didn't use as there was a warm blanket. We enjoyed the multiple steps and staircases but likely not ideal for those with mobility challenges.

The owner was nice and the location was good.

Felt very cold at night in the small room. Felt the comfort was not dry. Didn’t shower as didn’t feel the bathroom was very clean.

We stayed at this Italian-Moroccan family run Dar Terrae, over a particularly wet Christmas. The old part of the hotel is basic, but has attractively painted rooms, opening onto an Andulsian courtyard. The family were wonderfully welcoming, the bed was unexpectedly very comfy, and the electric fire kept our room cosy when it got cold and damp. The new part of the hotel has modern facilities and is no doubt more comfy, so the hotel has something for everyone, but we're really pleased we stayed in the original pension. Exceptionally good value for money.

The hotel is situated in the center of chefchaouen which is very convenient, the owner is very nice and extremely helpful. He and the staff helping you with directions and helpful advises during the stay

unfortunately the sleeping quality of the room was very poor, the room was facing one big street and you can hear some very loud scooters during the whole night, and the window to the street hardly prevents the noise. i could not sleep properly in the room. Also, there were tourists checked in late and you could hear them speak a lot. I know the staff is very nice, but if you want to use the hotel for resting, i recommend you staying at another location.
