Lazy Republique

deluxe rooms excellent size rooms kept very clean regular linen change mini bar was nice to have owners charming and available cleaning and maintenance staff very lovely Breakfast excellent although we mainly ate lunch and dinner out so didn't need breakfast Sunset bar lovely but we didn't use as proffered to be at the beach There isn't a nice local beach in Balain but its very close to Lonely Beach/Nature Beach which is only 5 minutes by car or moped and easy to catch the taxi from outside the resort. Balain is a perfect location as you can easily travel to beaches north and south and within 5 minutes walk of Lazy Republique, you can walk to about 12 or more places to eat. There are also a couple of small bars, small stories for essential items. it was great as you didn't have to get any transport at night, you could just walk out to eat. It was also easy, quick and cheap to go into Lonely Beach or Kai Bae if you wanted some nightlife. we had a car but also used taxis. the parking is onsite and excellent. having seen many accommodations on the island, we felt lucky to have chosen Lazy Republique. It was a fair price and the property was well kept. Many properties on the island are in a poor state of repair. So in summary, perfect choose if you dont mind hopping on and off the local cheap taxis or if you have transport. not the right choice if you want to be directly by a nice beach. We stayed 3 weeks.

I was lucky enough to have had one of the new mattresses, which was medium firm and very comfortable, much better than the mattress I had to start. I understand the owners are now going to change all of them.

Lovely setting and friendly greeting by the hosts. Good recommendations for restaurants and scooter hire. Very tasteful and clean accommodation with a comfy bed. Stunning pool area and close to lovely beaches.

awesome host couple! tasty ice-cream, cocktails & breakfast. clean bungalows, pool etc. lovely small town with beach, restaurants, massage places, coffee, scooter rental and so on... just over the hill from lonely beach/party area. new boxing school in walking distance.

only thing i could say, bed is too hard for me but this is maybe just me...

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. It’s a quiet place, so we slept really well. The breakfast bowl was delicious and I loved the coffee! They also provided two drinking bottles which you could fill anytime, I loved that. The casita was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. It’s also conveniently located near several great authentic restaurants, including the one next door and Song Phi Nong a bit further down the road.

We stayed here as a couple and were given the first casita on the property, the one closest to the restaurant. This wasn’t ideal in terms of privacy, but here were curtains, which helped, although there were small gaps at the sides. There was no mosquito net over the bed, but we had brought our own.
