Pension de Zeeschelp

Everything. The location, the house, the room, is better than the photos.

This is a most exceptional place. Really all what you need, and not more than you need, in a very special way: simple, friendly, minimalistic, a little alternative paradise, where time stands still. I wish there were more places like this, one almost thinks there that the world might survive. I hope Zeeschelp will survive and not change!

It is very close to dunes and the beach.

It was not what I expected. We ring the bell and nothing happens. Then I get to Backyard and my first impression was , what a mess. The "Terrace" looks like a place to dump all garbage and stuff. Finally an "familiary Assistant" of the host who was not briefed properly and not ready showed up and showed us the rooms. This was the next shock. I really wonder how that is possible and allowed on booking to allow rentals like this. It's even to bad for my dog or cats. The rooms are technically in a more then critical situation. No one will knows what happens in case of emergency such as a fire etc. Very low room ceiling, very narrowly stairway. A strange smell in the air and no private rooms for showering etc. And last but not least, the Host is very outrageously, impolite and arrogant from the start. They didn't even prepare the rooms properly but was insisting to get some cancelation -fee. What is wrong with booking com and how is that possible? We tried to cancel at least one room and complete but the communication was an absolute mess. Don't go there , even when you are absolutely desperate.

Comfortable bed, clean sanitary, quiet house, close to beach and restaurants, friendly staff. Very much enjoyed my stay. Would visit again.

Good breakfast. Clean rooms and shared bathroom. Kind owners. Excellent Location.

rooms are poorly equipped (80s style), too few toilets for the amount of guests (1 per floor = approx. 6rooms), the walls are so thin that you hear everything within that house (including in our case an alarm that did not turn off for the entire night - we did not receive an apology from the owners). moreover it was impossible to reach out to the pension upfront, thus we didn’t know the details of parking and as a consequence of course did not choose the right parking on our first day and paid a lot extra. overall very disappointing.
