The hotel is well located, within walking distance to everything. Niki and her staff were great hosts. The bed was extremely comfy, especially the pillows, as I normally have an issue with pillows in guest houses. Although it was a chilly evening, there is a stunning wood fire place in the room but I was thrilled to find a good old fashioned hot water bottle in the drawer and that kept my feet toasty warm all night. The breakfast is plentiful, fruit salad + cereal + hot brekky, I went for the avo on toast with bacon, I couldn't finish it, their portions are very generous. Even though the hotel has been recently bought over and newly renovated, everything ran smoothly. I will definitely stay there next time.

Mattres can be better. Drain smell in the room. Think problem with drain block. Kettle on floor to get boiled. Floating shelves will be a good option

The location is lovely and the room was pretty. We were welcomed very warmly.

We were told that the room had just been renovated and that there was no door between the bedroom and the loo which was fine for us but after some time we also realized there was no mirror in the bathroom, the floors were covered in builders dust. The bedding was super thin, more for summer than deep winter (it was very cold) and there were no hangers in the cupboard. The floorboards were lose and the kettle cord didn’t stretch to the dresser so we had to boil it on the floor. It just felt like the room wasnt ready for guests yet….

We booked 2 rooms. In general I will recommend more blankets or an electric blanket for the winter, 1 blanket is not enough. Also some electrical leads so that you don’t have to take the kettle to the floor to get to an electrical plug. Room 2 has a complete see-through door with no blinds in front. It also has an inside door to the rest of a house with no key to lock the door which meant random people were opening the door at 9.30 pm in the evening. Both these are security and privacy issues and unacceptable at this price range. The owner was not on the property when we checked out so we were unable to communicate this to her on the day of check-out.
