BOOK IT!

A very hospitable host, who sincerely cares about his guests, is available independently, which is very useful in atypical situations, such as the one that happened to us when the door fell off and we couldn't get back to the room because the keys were left inside. And it was early in the morning. We had to call the host ofc he was sleeping but didn't show any annoyance, and gave us a spare key. The sincerity was expressed in everyday care, short, friendly conversations, responsiveness, readiness to support and help. we recommend this guest house to those who travel to Corfu. Rooms were clean, with fully working kitchen, bathroom, a lodgy, very good air conditioners. Just an exceptional stay. Bus stop just minutes away that drives to center and all mayor cities

The host attacked us for spilling a bit of wine on the sheets and was angry we stayed in a lot.

In my 20 years of travel experience around the world I have never experienced such a rude and unprofessional amateur of a host. The host was nice at first but after we spilled a bit wine on the sheets all hell broke loose. If he asked politely for us to pay, I’d contact booking support to figure the reasonable price and would offer it - but instead the host just attacked us screaming for 10 minutes that we destroyed the sheets and if it ever happens again we will need to pay - so no, we were not explicitly asked to pay - btw. who does that - for some cheap sheets?! We stayed in and cooked every day and I cleaned it every day spotless - what was my good will. The cleaning lady however did a bad job, only replacing the towels every two days and not sweeping the floor once - what we didn’t mind - but are attacked now for being dirty?! We went to sandy beaches every day - what can you expect and we didn’t have a broom to clean the room even if I wanted to - again - it is the cleaning staff duty to clean - not the guest! To mention more faults - bad chairs about to break - we didn’t break anything in the room thankfully, limescale and rust in the bathroom, old furniture that looks good on the photos but not in person. I have a video proof of leaving the room clean and tidy - better than we found it. We did not get what we paid for - this host has no idea of how to run this business, he wants the money and invisible guests. Avoid at all costs!

Great stay, best host

Had a perfect stay at Gouvia House! The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable, it was well located close to great restaurants and the bus which will take you anywhere on the island. Our favorite part was meeting Mr. Stavros! The kindest host we enjoyed spending time with and we will miss very much. We will be back! Efcharisto!

Exceptional

We arrived late and Stavros was there to meet us , through out the duration of our stay he constantly ensured that we had everything we needed. A nice set of apartments that have everything you need set at the beginning of the main strip running through Gouvia . Supermarkets , Restaurants bus stops where you can access all of the island and bars shops all within close proximity. In all more than adequate apartments at a very reasonable price with one of the best hosts you could wish for. We will definitely be staying there again

Very nice host, spacious apartment and a nice looking garden

The host (Stavros) is very nice and very helpful (and speaks many languages: Greek, French, Polish, English). The location of the accommodation is at the start of Gouvia and you just walk into the city life of Gouvia.

There are not a lot of cooking utensils (pots and pans etc) and cutlery (forks, spoons, knives) in the accommodation. The organisation of the apartment, the beds and the chairs are just the same as any accommodation in Greece. It's comparable with German "gründlichkeit" (basic but practical).

Great location

Our apartement was huge and well equipped. The bed is really comfortable. Our host Mr. Stavros is very friendly and helpful. Gouvia is a smart choice for everyone who want to explore the island with public transport. The bus stop is 4 minutes walk from the property. The city's beach with pebbles is 5 minutes walk.

The apartement's balconies are not separeted from each other.

Spacious and comfortable apartment

The appartment was very spacious, quiet, well equiped (even an iron and blowdryer) and clean. The owner, Stavros, is very friendly and welcoming. Always in for a friendly chat and regularly offered me coffee/fruits. The location is also perfect, near the shops, restaurants, beach, but just enough from the majn street to have a very quiet stay. I definitely recommend this appartment!

Nice budget option

Very friendly personal (Stavros was always ready to help and just to talk :), nice location, all needed shops and restaurants near, near to the airport (around 15 minutes by car), good fair price, cute cats :)

The drain in the bathroom did not work very well - the foam from the bathtub flowed out through the grate on the floor. No other issues found

Gouvia is a great location to stay, nice beach, good bars and restaurants, and close to Corfu Town.

Stavros was the perfect host, so friendly and generous, the apartments were in a quiet location, close to everything you needed, bars, restaurants, beach, and the bus service around the island. Apartments were clean and spacious with good WiFi.

For self catering the cutlery was sparse, we mostly ate out so we managed, however if we had asked, I am certain, Stavros would have rectified this.

Relaxing holiday with kind people

The location was excellent for restaurants, shop and beach and not too far from buses for travelling around. Stavros was very helpful and concerned that we should enjoy our holiday. If you need anything just ask. Very relaxing holiday with very kind and thoughtful people. We had a ground floor apartment with bedroom, twin beds with air con and another large bed in the other room with table chairs and small kitchen area. Modern bathroom with shower and small outside area with table and chairs. I believe other rooms with bigger balconies and different configurations are available and if you e-mail Stavros he answers promptly.

Relaxing one week stay in the city of Gouvia

Great position in the context of Gouvia, near all restaurants and bars but not noisy in night. Every two days rooms was cleaned and towels changed, air conditioned working perfectly, perfectly furnished kitchenette, nice bathroom. Small market few steps away, 3 minutes walking from Gouvia beach, plenty of private parking space.

Only small things I can think of are: - bathroom sink tap was too strong too suddenly; - window in room seemed to be stuck at first, but then it just need a bit of strength to be opened.

Super aardige eigenaar! Maakt elke dag een praatje. Daarnaast ook gratis drankjes gekregen. Locatie is top. Dichtbij busstation en het centrum van Gouvia. Scooterverhuur op 50 meter afstand, leuk om hier Corfu mee te verkennen.

Appartement is sober. Alles is aanwezig, echter geen luxe.

Centralissimo e strategico appartamento a Gouvia

La gentilezza e disponibilità del proprietario Stavros. La centralità e la comodità a tutti i servizi. Gouvia è davvero in una posizione strategica per visitare l'isola. Il wifi funziona bene, ci sono i condizionatori, quindi ottimo per il grande caldo, abbiamo sfiorato i 40 gradi in questi giorni di fine giugno e sarebbe stato davvero difficile sopportare il caldo senza. C'è il parcheggio privato, quindi un plus non da poco. Vicinissimo al mare.

Ci sono pochissimi piatti, posate e pentole, se ci si ferma per un soggiorno un po' più lungo o se si è in quattro è un po' complicato preparare i pasti. Non c'è lavatrice, quindi bisogna portare tutto in lavanderia. Ok, per brevi soggiorni, ma per lunghi soggiorni e' un po' più scomodo. Non ci sono nemmeno bacinelle quindi un po' complicato anche lavare a mano, ma ci si arrangia con il piccolo lavandino. Non ci sono scope o stracci per lavare e quindi se mangi rimani con le briciole o il pavimento sporco tutto il soggiorno. Quando ho chiesto di poter avere una scopa mi è stato detto che avrebbero sistemato loro l'appartamento ogni due giorni, ma in realtà cambiano solo le lenzuola, gli asciugamani e buttano la spazzatura. Di pulire niente ed è un vero peccato perché l'appartamento è molto carino e centrale. Basterebbero alcune accortezze.

Parfait, paisible calme et beau

Très beau séjour. Réservez sans hésitation. Vous serez bien accueilli, le maitre d’hotel est un homme qui aime son travail et qui prend bien soins de ses clients ( belles conversations, boissons offertes, sens du service et très bon coeur)

Emplacement idéal sur l'île, proximité des commerces et des plages. Gentillesse et attention du propriétaire qui de plus parle très bien le français, ce qui est très appréciable quand on ne parle pas très bien anglais. Nous n'hesiterions pas à retourner dans cet établissement pour un prochain voyage à Corfou.

Équipement sommaire de la cuisine à notre arrivée, mais rapidement résolue par la réactivité du propriétaire. Encore un grand merci à lui pour sa disponibilité.
