Close to the beach, had a beautiful pool, had a wonderful covered porch had lawn furniture on the covered porch, and in front of our hotel room with a covered Cabanna

After people moved in upstairs, we could hear every noise they made so better insulation would help. Better lighting.

Tropical Storm Lisa past though, was told I could rebook my night for later date! We could not get to Placencia, I email them earlier morning 4am, then called at 8am. Was told sorry we don’t refund and/or extended you for another night! “Policy” Due to weather, we wanted to extend or stay and stay an extra night at Laru Beya but they said NO! Due to weather Airlines would have changed our tickets at no charge!

Wonderful place

Loved, loved, loved Laru Beya. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. My room was so comfortable with a partial ocean view, but constant trade winds and the sound of the waves could be heard 24 hours s day. Grounds were immaculate.

Only drawback is that you have to get a taxi or rent a golf cart if you want to visit the town. Nothing is within walking distance.

Very good

Very nice rooms, and as close to the beach as we've ever seen (due mainly to the reef preventing much in the way of tides). Staff was genuinely friendly. The tour (Monkey River) and service (massage) they arranged were very good. Had one dinner there which was good and a couple times at the bar, with friendly bartender (Emory).

While Placencia Village was a 10-15 min drive (and Seine Bight very short), nothing was in walking distance. What was a BIG disappointment. It seems you cannot go snorkeling in one of the cayes with less than 4 people. My son and I wanted to go snorkeling, but could not get a tour with just two. The resort was unable to arrange, and I checked on my own and this seems to be the case. I can understand a boat being full, but not being able to fit 2 people in makes no sense. If you are a party of two and want to see Placencia's main attraction (reefs), you're out of luck. This is a Placencia-based issue and not the fault of the resort (unless they can make a connection with a tour operator who doesn't adhere to this insane policy).

Superb

I loved that the staff knew my name and my preferences. They also knew the names of everyone in my party and their preferences. The pool is facing the beach and the restaurant is right next to the pool area. My room had a beautiful ocean view and I loved swinging in the hammock looking at the ocean.

The location is too far from anything, so you'll need to get a taxi or rent a golf cart. A taxi into town with 5 adults and 2 kids cost us $22 USD one way. A golf cart for 4 people, for 8 hours, cost about $75 USD.

Great resort excellent value

Great location private, moderate drive to town restaurants and bars. Breakfast was included and lots of options and very good. All the employees greet you by your name. Pool is large and clean. Moderate amount of sargassum made the beach not as attractive but this phenomenon is happening all throughout the Caribbean. Nice clean quiet premises. Extremely helpful front office staff. We would return to Larubeya resort without a doubt.

Exceptional

I loved my back deck off my room facing the ocean, room for yoga outside, clean pool, yummy food- I had a burger for dinner and a standard breakfast and all was yummy. Easy pick up from airport and drop off to next location.

Maybe a less expensive room option because I did not need the kitchen/family room? Instructions in the room on how to use the TV.
