Chata Smiech

Dobrá poloha, v prírode priamo pri rieke, v podstate na samote, kúsok ja cyklotrasa, blízko na peši do bufetu a do koliby na prípadné stravovanie.

Chata má už svoje najlepšie roky za sebou, netreba očakávať žiaden luxus, skôr staršie zariadenia a vybavenie.

Bardzo fajna kameralna lokalizacja nad samą rzeką. Żadnych sąsiadów w pobliżu. Można spokojnie robić ognisko i relaksować się w ogrodzie bez obawy, że komuś przeszkadzamy i bez zaglądania zza płotu. Położenie blisko głównej drogi w samym centrum Słowacji pozwala bez trudu dojechać do każdego szlaku w promieniu 40-50 km. Entuzjaści rowerów mogą wyjechać prosto na szlak rowerowy, który wiedzie wzdłuż wspomnianej drogi. Podział pokojów pozwala na swobodny nocleg dla wielu osób w tym par. Jest sporo dwuosobowych, oddzielnych sypialni jak również pojedynczych łóżek. Poza tym na dole duże jadalnie, podwójny prysznic i kilka toalet. Pod tym względem dom naprawdę się broni jeśli chodzi o duże grupy.

Wyposażenie domu swoje już przeżyło. Szczególnie kuchnia pozostawia wiele do życzenia. Na taką ilość osób jest po prostu za mała, a wyposażenie jest zniszczone i niedomyte. Mówię o takich rzeczach jak piekarnik czy lodówka.

Everything was great. The house is situated in lovely place on the Revuca river and very closed to bicycling paths and hiking trails. The house is big and spacy enough for few families or group of friends.

We really liked the overall features and setup of the house; the long, massive wooden benches and tables; the new modern windows (to keep out the noise of the nearby highway); the sound of the close, fast stream; the responsive and effective hosting; the great price for a family gathering.

You’ve got two heating options: A) fireplace: less child-safe B) auxiliary electric heaters: they tend to blow the fuse especially if used together with cooking appliances. We went with option B) because of the kids, but it is not very comfortable due to the aforementioned reasons, also some heaters are in poor condition with faulty thermal resistors and either do not provide enough heat without the fireplace, or overheat quickly (hence become dangerous to touch..) Water heating: there is one huge electric boiler / hot water tank. Seemed aplenty but it sadly broke off constantly, before heating all the way up. The hosts sent help always on short notice, who got it running again, but this is of little use if it stops making warm water again in the night, or during the day, when you will notice and end up without warm water during shower time. Cleanliness: the ground floor was OK, but on the first floor the carpet flooring would welcome a thorough cleaning / refurbishing. There was also some leftover garbage under the beds that the kids obviously found: I’d guess those places and corners were not cleaned in a long time. Overall: some care would make wonders with this place!
