Neuhof Portion 2 Campsite

A beautiful and peaceful location about a 40-minute drive from the Sesriem Gate. We had great communication with our very kind host, Lelanie, who shared lots of interesting information with us and warned us about a friendly little jackal that visits the camp and likes to play with visitors’ shoes :-) The jackal did indeed show up—it was really interesting to hear how it communicates with the other jackals in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you, Lelanie.

The property was peaceful, the staff (Leilani) was amazing and accommodating, stargazing from here was phenomenal. Overall great experience. The cherry on top is that it is a small family business which I was happy to support.

Service was great.

We couldn’t get a spot inside the national park so had to book here and the drive to the dunes wasn’t that long, we left early enough to be car no.3. The staff member was lovely, check-in was smooth and she helped us find a camp spot facing the opposite direction of the wind that night. Clean showers with hot water even late at night, there was also a little kitchen area which was useful and the bins near the campsite were great.

We didn’t end up staying in the end as there was a mixup in the booking and the staff were not friendly about it or very welcoming so we didn’t end up staying and left to camp close by. The facilities seemed limited but in-line with the price.

The staff and owner were not pleasant.
