Kyoto Nijo Traditional House

Staying in this house has been an incredible experience. After hopping from hotel to hotel, staying in a true traditional house felt incredible. There are two rooms, one of which has tatami flooring and that the host has kindly set up with Japanese futon, allowing guests to experience a realistic Japanese experience. Plus, the host was very approachable and even gifted us some cookies!

The only thing I didn't love was the location, requiring bus / train rides to get anywhere with the station and bus stop being 10/15 walk away. The rides are fairly quick to get to Kyoto station though, so not too bad! Additionally, the neighbourhood feels very authentic and the neighbours were all very approachable.

Ce logement est très spacieux et idéal pour les voyages en groupes, permettant l'intimité tout en ayant de bons espaces de convivialité. L'équipement proposé est de bonne qualité. Il est également bien situé : accessible à pied depuis la gare (10 minutes environ), avec plusieurs commerces de proximité et plusieurs activités culturelles également. Enfin, j'aimerais souligner la gentillesse de l'hôte, toujours disponible et arrangeante ! Je recommande vivement !

A lovely urban house in a nice area, a short walk from Nijo Station. Spotlessly clean. There are two supermarkets nearby, one near the station and there's a friendly public bath house at the end of the street; try the electric bath. We had quick replies to messages and an issue with a faulty appliance tripping a circuit breaker was promptly resolved. Highly recommended.

Nothing really. The bedrooms are upstairs, but that's common. We're getting on a bit and we coped quite happily.
