It was not in a pedestrian zone.

The space was very cleaned and well supplied with what one needed for cooking needs. There was an open field across from where I was in, and it was a lovely way to start the day, drinking in the plant life, the bird song. It was extremely close to Hilo, and was easy to access routes for traveling by car all around the island. There is a shopping plaza nearby that you could actually walk to, and a gas station, that made it incredibly easy to stock up. I found the room I was in quiet as well. The hostess came by and left me delicious avocados and she really pours her heart and soul into the space. Communicating with management about concerns was easy and effective. As a single female traveller, I felt very safe in the room, and didn't encounter any weirdness. The manager was extremely responsive to questions about wifi code and such.

I got used to it, but on arrival, the nature of the window was a bit on the narrow side and it felt at first claustrophobic which prompted me to stay in a different town the last few nights of a 16 night adventure (glad I did, because it was great to experience a place on a lava field.) The walls are thin, so you may hear some noise at night, but people abided by the guidelines for quiet times in the complex so it wasn't an issue.

There was confusion on which unit I rented. The day AFTER I arrived I was told there was no hot water in the kitchen and that it leaks on the floor. Why did they rent it then? Then the day before I left I was told that there was no laundry when it was posted on the door that they did.
