Le calme, la proximité du lac, jolie petite maison en pierre joliment rénovée. Très grande chambre et bonne literie.

De notre voyage de 9 nuits à vélo le long de La Vagabonde (Montluçon à Cahors), notre logement préféré était ce gîte du Fer à Cheval. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Le gîte se compose de deux étages avec au RdC un salon, cuisine ouverte et une SdB et à l'étage une grande chambre. Le mélange d'ancien et de touches modernes est joliment fait. On s'y sent bien. Les lits jumeaux juxtaposés étaient très confortables. Le gîte est très calme. Nous avons fait un feu le soir en mangeant et sommes allés à pieds nous balader le long du lac de Vassilière. C'était une chouette expérience.

Beautiful renovated property, plenty of equipment in the kitchen, comfortable furniture.

Spiral staircase was difficult and not mentioned in the description nor was there a photo showing this. Needs to be mentioned especially for people with limited mobility. We don't have any mobility issues but we struggled, especially taking the suitcase upstairs. Needs another parasol in the garden as current one sits in the middle of the table and is ineffective for most of the day. Garden is to the front and not private, though there is little passing traffic. Bedroom 2 is directly off bedroom 1, so no privacy if sharing with friends. There is no blind on the window in the first bedroom so light floods in in the morning. Bathroom and toilet are on the ground floor, toilet is located next to the settee so again no privacy if sharing with friends, ground floor living room could be rearranged to resolve this. For a 4 bedroom property there are not enough comfortable seats in the living room Could do with a fridge with a freezer box and a microwave in the kitchen.
