Do you need a mountain top experience with the combination of a refreshing lake? We have prepared just the escape for you and your large family or friend group! Come be refreshed with views that proclaim all of God's glory in the nature preserve below and the sunsets and sunrises that will refresh your soul.
This mountain top home is minutes away from Raystown Lake. Built in 2022 this brand new home was designed for your large group to stay!! It has artificial turf, a hot tub, a fire pit, putting green, tether ball, Weber Grill, basketball hoop, ping pong table, corn hole, pickle ball, Kan Jam, ladder ball, indoor POP-A -SHOT basketball, foosball, a closet of board games, toys/puzzles and a game room. Dual Primary Bedrooms with king sized beds and pebble showers. The first floor is Wheelchair accessible with a Primary Bedroom and bathroom. The Second Floor Primary Bedroom Suite has a walk out balcony!
Whether you like to be at the lake or in the mountains enjoying the views, this is a win-win property. Go boating, hiking, mountain biking, hunting on the federal grounds, to a Penn State game, to a lake beach, water park, or gather with a large group of friends/family!! This home is perfectly designed for an extended family reunion, baby shower, church retreat or anything but a wild party :)
Overlook Lodge has something for every season and age group!! Sit on one of the three levels of deck and watch an amazing sunrise as you sip your coffee or snuggle up inside by the stone fire place, massive Christmas tree or outdoor fire pit. Have a huge meal together around the live edge dinning room table that seats 12. A total of 24 adults can be seated with the the island seating of 6, a pop up table for 6 and a kids table for 2 and a highchair!!
Raystown Lake and Shy Beaver boat launch is 5 minutes away down the mountain! Bring your boat and trailer! Our home has plenty of parking!! Or rent a boat, wave runner, or kayak. Raystown Lake is unique in that it is 28 miles of lake (8,300 acres) to to explore!! It is surrounded by Federal Game Land, all preserved in its natural habitat. This means no homes on Raystown Lake have private access to the water. Our home is one of the unique few that can see Raystown Lake. To get to the lake, you go down the mountain to Shy Beaver Boat launch 5 minutes away! Often you can see the American eagles in the tree tops looking for fish in the early morning or soaring on the thermals in the afternoon!! The deer love to come for early morning lake drinks. We have seen otters and beavers play in the waters edge. There are two beach areas on the lake, two restaurants to dock the boat and get something to eat or get gas for the boat right on the water. Also, many little private coves and areas to explore!
We take pride in our home, and want you to feel at home when you are our guest. We take cleanliness seriously and will do our best to make sure everything is perfect for your vacation. We provide more so you can pack less: linens, blankets, sheets, towels, hands towels, firewood, hand soaps, dish soaps, dish towels, a full stocked gourmet kitchen, two refrigerators, indoor and outdoor games for the kids, pack-in play, high chair, 4 beach chairs and propane for the grill. If there’s a problem, let us know and we will resolve it. We can help you to navigate your trip, make recommendations for eating out and things to do, and will be responsive to your needs.
Stellar STARLINK wireless internet is provided at the home with Dish TV and a washer and dryer is yours to use as well. The garage has a universal EV charger for any electric car!!
The following is the layout of the home:
The First Floor Great Room is open to the dining room, kitchen and foyer. It has a pull out queen sofa. Primary Bedroom 1 is on the first floor and the entire first floor and deck is wheelchair accessible!
The second floor has a loft area with a twin day bed and a twin trundle bed. A Second Primary suite with private bathroom and a king sized bed. Two additional bedrooms each with a queen sized bed.
The walkout basement has lots of windows so it's bright, cheery, and open with 10 foot ceilings. There is a large open game room and living room with a pull out sofa. Two private bedrooms: one with a full bunk bed and a twin bunk bed. The Moose Bedroom has two queen sized beds.
There are 6 private bedrooms:
1) 1st Floor Primary with king bed with bathroom suite and pebble stone shower
2) 2nd Floor Primary with king bed and bathroom suite with pebble stone shower
3) Second-floor bedroom with a queen bed
4) Second-floor bedroom with a queen bed
5) Bedroom in the lower level walkout basement with two queen beds
6) Bedroom in the lower level walkout basement with one full bunk bed, and one twin bunk bed
RULES/RESTRICTIONS:
We will accept up to 24 guests max. Renters must be at least 24 years old, with no rentals for high-school or college parties without older adult (age 24+) supervision, and a commitment not to use the home for alcohol fueled partying! NO PETS. No smoking inside the house. Noise must be quieted/controlled after 10 p.m. per ordinance. NO RV'S PARKED ON GROUNDS.
Our property is equipped with outdoor security cameras, and we will enforce these policies. Renters who choose to throw large fraternity style, alcohol fueled parties, will be held responsible for all damages, may have the police called, and may be have access to the property removed, forfeiting all monies paid. This policy ensures that we can offer a safe and secure guest experience, maintain our property in top shape for guests, and maintain respect for the neighbors.
Check-in procedures will be sent prior to arrival. We will generate a unique front door lock access code to each guest and you may be asked to have your ID for security. If you are coming at Christmas or in the winter and it becomes icy or snowy, 4-wheel or All-Wheel drive may be necessary to get up or down the mountain road. If you have any questions, we can always be reached for current road conditions in the area. You will have our host's personal cell number and we can be reached any time before or during your trip to ensure a wonderful stay at our home!
Finally, we will clean the property after your stay, but we do require guests to leave the rooms and floors free of debris, trash, wet towels, dishes, etc. Sheets and towels will need to be placed in the laundry area and dishes rinsed and placed in the dishwasher. This allows us to charge a smaller cleaning fee for such a large home.
