About this villa rental
We are so thrilled to be offering this charming, quirky and much loved second home in Salema which is also one of our most 'eco friendly' properties. Alexeii is virtually fossil fuel free with solar electricity and hot water and solar pool heating.There is also additional electric heating for the pool at an addtional cost for the cooler months.
Casa Alexeii has been in the owner's family for over 50 years and the cherished property exudes happy memories and enjoys breathtaking views of the pretty fishing village and the sparkling sea beyond. It is situated on a hill which allows for the generous views and the area is part of the National Park. The property is surrounded by established plants, shrubs and succulents and is very peaceful.
The house is traditional in style with Portuguese tiles, wooden furniture and comfortable sofas around a cosy fireplace surrounded by a colourful collection of books, paintings, plates and ornaments.
The kitchen is in a country style with wooden cabinets and pretty tiles and is extremely well equipped with everything you could need including some additional perks like a wine fridge, Kenwood hand mixer and coffee machine.
The bedrooms are furnished in the same unique style with splashes of colour and personal touches and all have high-quality mattresses. The master bedroom is on the first floor and is reached by a staircase with a rope instead of a bannister so care should be taken. The owners can provide a stairgate for extra reassurance. This bedroom has doors that lead out to a terrace overlooking the pool area and the spectacular views of Salema.
Outside there is a delightful terrace with an electric awning. There is both a comfortable seating area for relaxing and reading a book or enjoying a drink, and outside dining furniture for alfresco dining while making the most of the stunning views. The pool area is reached by a few steps from the terrace and is gated for additional reassurance with little ones, although care should always be taken of course.
Just a 5 minute walk to the beach and various restaurants, this is an ideal choice for those who prefer to wander out for dinner in the evenings. The long stretch of beach is generally quieter than some of the other popular beaches in the Algarve with a real sense of relaxation and calm.
Casa Alexeii also has heating in the bedrooms, a cosy fireplace in the living room and double glazing making this an excellent choice for out of season holidays.

The home was one of the nicest in Salema. The walk to town was easy. Restaurants and the beach are fantastic. The oasis of our villa was spectacular.

The villa couldn't have been more perfect! Gorgeous and homely house, beautiful views, very comfortable and every comfort and need thought of. As two families with children we really appreciated the comfortable beds and rooms, shutters so they could sleep well in the dark, two baths and lots of bathrooms, a big fridge for food, a genuine short walk to the village which we did multiple times a day and all the things that matter when travelling with children! Lots of space to sit together inside and out. We would really recommend staying here and it’s clearly a well loved and cherished family home, the opposite of many a sterile rental. We also loved the extra details about the houses history and art in the house. We’d love to go back, thanks for having us!

We all loved our stay at Casa Alexei, and hope to come back soon. Very comfortable house, near the beach, and the pool was a hit with everyone. We had our breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the well-sheltered terrace.
Fantastic views of the sea, and you can watch the stars at night.
