We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. As a family of six with four teenagers, we had enough space, and the location was quiet, even though there was sometimes heavy traffic related to the school across the street.
The mattresses were very comfortable and not too soft, which we truly appreciated.
We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities such as shower gel, shampoo, washing machine and dryer, as well as the coffee machine with coffee – all of which made our stay much more convenient and pleasant.
It would be very helpful to have white daytime curtains in the master bedroom in addition to the blackout curtains, so that the room can be bright during the day while still offering privacy.
The toaster seems to have a technical issue, as the toast did not pop up properly – perhaps it could be checked or replaced.
We noticed that there were slightly too few plates for a family of six. Adding a few more would make mealtimes easier.
Two of the seven chairs are damaged; replacing them would improve comfort and safety.
In the bathroom, there was only one hook for wet towels. A few additional hooks or a towel rack would be very practical. The shower mats did not absorb water very well – perhaps replacing them with more absorbent ones could help.
For floor cleaning, a broom with a dustpan would be very useful to keep the apartment tidy during the stay.
Since the living room is open to the staircase, sounds can travel downstairs easily. We did our best to stay quiet, but adding a door or sound-absorbing element at the stair opening could improve privacy and make the apartment even more comfortable for families.
When opening the dishwasher door and pulling out the rack, the entire machine tips forward, as it does not appear to be fixed to the cabinetry — securing it would improve safety.

Het was een ruim appartement in een goede buurt. Prima badkamer en keuken.
Er had iets meer keukengerij mogen zijn en de zetels hadden hun beste tijd gehad en zaten wat door.
We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in Port Moody en zou zeker het verblijf aanraden !

Pluses:
- Amazing location - walk to everything
- Easy entry
- Very attentive and understanding host (needed more towels and they were provided instantly), also I had broken the shampoo bottle dispenser and it wasn't an issue - very understanding.
- Great parking
- Great fully equipped kitchen
- Nice living room/dining and bedrooms
- Lots of nice stuff like coffees for the keurig machine and such
- Nice bathroom and huge tub
Minuses:
- Heavy, unpleasant odor of food upon arrival which almost ruined our stay. It was so bad we had to go out and purchase candles to help mask/fight the stench. It disappated and was gone the next day, but then the day after that, a different (but equally as unpleasant and repulsive) food odor enveloped the entire place once again. We became concerned this issue would literally permeate our clothes, but thankfully this didn't happen.
- Important to know, the host lives on the lower level, which is open to the entrance way to where the stairs lead up to the home. The top of the stairs is open to the living room and kitchen, which makes it a privacy issue as there's no door closing the upstairs so watching tv, cooking in the kitchen or having dinner and such is all audible to anyone on the lower level coming and going.
I don't like being this harsh on reviews, and again, the pluses are great and should be taken into account - but these issues need to be addressed... particularly the odor. It created an instant "what did I get myself into?" the moment one comes through the door sense of regret.
My litmus test for such issues is simple: "Would I stay here again?" The answer is no, unless the problems were fixed.
