The hosts were lovely and quick to sort out problems, but really these were the kind of problems which we shouldn't have been having such as the cooker not working or there being no way to wash up. We did not ask them to solve the problems below as they were too many but we were left feeling that the house is over-priced - it is OK, but not as splendid as the other reviews suggested and not worth the money charged. Towels and sheets were clean, and most of the beds were comfortable. The location is great - close to La Franca beach and the mountains - but we really would have benefited from local information from the hosts about what there is to do in the area, including how to get to the beaches on foot. We had to work this out for ourselves and it is easy to miss things using google.
This could be a wonderful holiday home but at the moment it falls short. One mattress (as another reviewer also said) is very uncomfortable. The house was clean in parts, but others needed attention in order to be used and the drains were blocked. The garden is like an empty field (the fig trees shown have been felled) with rubble and bits of asbestos making it unsafe for young children. The garden furniture was stacked on the patio and needed washing before use, the patio plants were dying or dead from lack of water. The house is OK as somewhere to sleep but it has no atmosphere - there are no lamps, pictures, decor and nothing but full overhead lighting. It would hardly have sufficient equipment for the 8 people it promises to sleep. There is no oven, despite listing it as having a kitchen, and the coffee machine and toaster are best for only two. The kitchen cupboards were too dirty to use. The other beaches advertised as local are small coves only accessible from La Franca at low tide (so not really independent beaches).
