Spacious 3-bedroom home in Birmingham with driveway parking

Very Horrible Host that will not even talk to you on the phone when you call on arrival and will not even bother to call the guest about the reservation to state that he or she has emailed the guest earlier requesting for photo ID and that there will not be check in details provided without ID. As a regular user of Bookig.com this is the first time I am experiencing such horrible service from a host. There was no phone call after the booking confirmation about his email and I did not see this email requesting photo ID until I have arrived at the property in Birmingham. I tried to explain the situation and that he or she should understand that not everyone checks their email regularly and that he or she should have called me his guest ahead of time to avoid such than keeping me and my family outside in the cold stranded like this on the night (31st of Dec). Meanwhile I also mentioned to the host via SMS since they refuse to speak on the phone that My wife had her work NHS ID card in her handbag and would that be acceptable in the light of the circumstances we found ourselves and there was no answer on that. Rather the host communicated to booking.com that my reservation was a NO-SHOW RESERVATION so that they can claim my full accommodation payment in full, because I was asking them to refund me if they would not provide me with check-in details so that I can seek accommodation elsewhere. He also refused to refund me claiming that my reservation is a non-refundable last minute booking. This is a very horrible host with no empathy shown at all. They will not even speak with their guest (myself) on the phone while I was on site at their property in Birmingham for almost 1 hour before I left with my family to seek an alternative accommodation that late (around 9pm), of which a 4-year old child was part of the trip. A very horrible experience from the host, which negatively impacted our family's New year Eve's Plans!!!

The house is very spacious and the neighbors are very friendly.

The area is very quiet. Which means any loud noises can be heard across the street.

Lovely cosy home with beautiful conservatory for dining or work purpose. Enough room for everyone. Clean and reasonably well kept, competitive price that met our needs and expectations. I'll highly recommend. Host was also very nice to us.

The owner demanded to be sent electronic copies of our personal ID documents. I would never agree to send such things to a complete stranger. When I requested to see the owner’s GPDR policy on several occasions this was completely ignored. I will be pursuing this very troubling situation further. Booking.com has been very slow to respond to my enquiry. Clearly the Booking.com platform shares the responsibility for allowing this situation to develop. It needs addressing urgently.

The property needs updating. Everything was very well used and just a bit tired looking.
