Villa Sonja apartments

Il y a de ces rencontres qui changent un voyage. Nos hôtes ont été tellement gentils, ça a absolument tout changé sur ces trois jours. L’appartement est très grand. La piscine est un gros plus. Le petit dej et le dîner sont parfaits, la dame est cuisinière dans un restaurant et ça se sent. Au delà de tout ça, on est trop heureux d’avoir rencontré des gens si gentils et prévenants, malgré la barrière de la langue. Si vous passez dans la région, venez les rencontrer, vous ne le regretterez pas.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à l’appartement Sonja. Bien plus qu’un simple hébergement, nous avons eu la chance de vivre une très belle expérience chez l’habitant. Nos hôtes sont d’une gentillesse et d’une générosité rares. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec de nombreuses petites attentions : sandwichs, pastèque, spécialités maison, jus de grenade… et nous avons également eu la chance de goûter à une excellente cuisine familiale préparée avec beaucoup de cœur. Le cadre est magnifique, paisible et authentique. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les moments d’échange avec ce couple adorable, malgré la barrière de la langue. Nous avons aussi découvert avec plaisir les très jolies peintures réalisées par notre hôtesse. Une rencontre et un séjour que nous n’oublierons pas. Si vous recherchez un endroit authentique, chaleureux et loin des hébergements impersonnels, nous recommandons l’appartement Sonja sans hésiter. Merci encore pour votre formidable accueil !

The hosts are absolutely wonderful: incredibly kind, friendly, helpful, and genuinely warm. Always smiling and happy to chat, always there when you need them, but never intrusive. Simply lovely people who make you feel at home from the very first moment. The hosts are both incredibly talented and generous. He makes wonderful homemade liqueurs from local herbs and fruit grown in own garden, while she prepares absolutely delicious homemade food. Everything was fantastic, but the ćevapi and little homemade doughnuts were especially unforgettable! They also make some of the best Turkish-style coffee prepared in a džezva that I have ever had. You can also buy their homemade herbal products, preserves, and the aforementioned liqueurs. The villa itself is spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms have private bathrooms and comfortable beds, while the living room is large and pleasant. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped and comfortable for preparing and enjoying meals, although honestly, there is little reason to cook when the hostess's food is this amazing! The balcony offers a beautiful view of the mountains and Popovo Polje, a vast karst valley covered with vineyards. The pool patio also has wonderful mountain views, and it is a perfect place to relax on the sun loungers by the pool, surrounded by the shade of fig trees. We had every breakfast and dinner under those trees, which made the experience even more special. The pool is clean and the water is pleasantly warm, while still refreshing enough to cool you down during the Balkan summer. The kids absolutely loved it and it was almost impossible to get them out of the water! The surrounding area is incredibly peaceful and quiet, with plenty of wild nature and beautiful scenery. Small, picturesque villages with traditional stone houses are scattered throughout the area, although sadly many of the properties have been abandoned.
