Staff. what staff? Breakfast. What breakfast? It was informal, it was a bit mad . im fine with that. The ear plugs were appreciated - and used every night.
A window that stayed open would have been nice. No milk or cutlery supplied , so even a self catering breakfast was a challenge. Putting my own milk on an outside window sill reminded me of student days..... im 72.Only one ( bent ) coat hanger to hang clothes was bit lees than id hoped for.

Great location. Breakfast available in cafes nearby.
Could not access any channels on tv. No instructions for tv or coffee machine.

Firstly, the location is perfect right in the heart of Cork (and the fee for the room is very good for Ireland!). The room was also surprisingly comfy and stylish, with old school charm to it. Once I got the information how to get my keys, everything was good to go. There's a kettle and a wardrobe in the room, so suitable for longer stay as well. I will definitely keep this in mind for future visits in Cork!
I only got a text message like 15min before check-in with the access codes. As this place has no reception, there was a moment of stress when I'm standing outside. So for those checking reviews when they are panicking like I did, rest assured.. This is a legit accommodation provider! Even if it doesn't look like it from the outside of the building!

I could understand what the owner was trying to achieve, a room in a certain style (18th century) but I would have liked the wardrobe to be empty and draws also. The doors on the wardrobe were falling off and I didn't use it. I think a little bit of time spent on the room would be a great advantage. Three days of my holiday were spent in hospital which was unfortunate. I loved Princes Street and the area around the Exchange Building was so good. I would come again. A room on the ground floor would be great for some one who is 72, those stairs!
