The room was snug, cozy, new and clean. The location had us smack in the middle of Quay St - festive & convenient! The challenge was the late night music and the incessant bass beat. We asked to move for our 2nd night and the very helpful, friendly front desk obliged. Much quieter the 2nd night.

Location couldn’t be better the only drawback is the noise since it is next to pubs and restaurants. We stayed a Thursday and Friday, Thursday was ok even tho it was noisy, there were people downstairs eating and drinking but Friday night was unbearable. The music and the boom was so loud I had to take a sleeping pill to be able to fall asleep. It was past midnight. Other than that I loved the location.

This place is in a renovated 12th century (?) inn, so go in expecting smaller rooms, but they do it with such style and class it’s hard to not be absolutely impressed with this place! The staff is beyond helpful, super sweet, and you really can’t beat the location - within walking distance of everything. There is no parking on site bc it’s in the pedestrian area, but the Spanish arch parking garage is literally around the corner and the day rates are great. The bed is also massive, so plenty of room to relax when you get back from your days of exploration. Recommend static noise when you sleep if you are a light sleeper - they also provide ear plugs if that is more your thing. They also sell Irish plug converters that will fit all plugs except USB/Type C for €6 in the vending machines.

Friendly staff clean rooms. The room was tight for two people having to climb over one and other to get out to the bed and no other place to sit. Perfect spot for a solo traveler that only wants to sleep abs shower in the room.

The rooms are very small. Good for one traveler in a room, but we had two different rooms (the larger size price) and both had the bed surrounded by the wall on 3 sides so tough for a couple. The hotel is in the middle of the bar area - even on a Monday night in late September the music was loud like it was inside your room very late, so plan on using the earplugs they provide. But was clean and right in the middle of the tourist area.

This place is great. Just a black door on a very busy street! We were in room 12 and couldn’t hear anything from the streets. 54 square feet of comfort! It was just what we needed. A place to sleep and shower! We didn’t need a big room! Earplugs are provided but again we didn’t need them!

Location amazing. It is loud as the bar is open until 2am across the street but the leave ear plugs in the room for you. Easy to walk to from the bus station. We had the family room so lots of space, the other rooms may be very snug.

Our room was lovely but unfortunately stank of wet dog. It was a Saturday night and super loud as it’s above the pubs although they did provide earplugs. Wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t going out as you won’t sleep well but if you are it’s in a great location

The bed was very comfortable (I appreciated all the pillows!), but would be difficult to get in and out of for anyone with mobility issues. You climb in at the very foot of the bed. There was some noise from the pub below when they had music playing, but not enough to keep me from sleeping (even without the earplugs The Snug provides).

I absolutely LOVED this property! We stayed in the duplex and it was incredible. The location is perfect as there are pubs all around and there is a parking garage about a 5 minute walk away which was very convenient since we had a rental car! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Great place in the heart of Galway. Be mindful that this place is on top of a pub. So the music can be heard in the rooms till 2AM. But they do provide earplugs, which is nice. Great location does come at a cost.

We had a good experience when we stayed for 5 nights in late July 2025. The location is superb, right in the centre of Galway's vibrant Latin Quarter. Our room was somewhat small, but clean and modern. Adequate for our needs and good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, if you're considering a stay at the Snug Townhouse I'd like to make you aware of a couple of things; First, this hotel is in a lively, noisy location. Pubs adjacent to and opposite the hotel are busy until the early hours of the morning, so is the street outside. Our room was on the first floor facing Quay Street. The noise didn't bother us, but may well keep more sensitive guests awake at night. Secondly, the Spanish Arch carpark is very convenient. A short walk from the hotel and always has spaces (best value for us was a weekly ticket for 50 euros). But it is narrow and tight. I'd recommend you only enter if you have a small to average sized vehicle. Those with medium+ size cars were struggling to manoeuvre and squeeze into the small parking spaces.

Dont stay here if you want a quiet night. The ear plugs should have been the first clue. Close to many bars and restaurants which is nice and the room was spacious enough. The noise was too much though. Parking was very close but a very tight squeeze to get up the ramps.
