Normandy cottage

The host was very nice and helpful. We were able to leave the car after a check out. We had almost everything necessary in the cottage. Supermarkets and bakeries are nearby. Metro is also very close. There was no air co but the ventilator worked fine for us.

We checked in and it was very dusty. After a check out we had to clean after ourselves…which I found strange but didn’t make a scene (otherwise he’d charge us extra €30). Eventually, we left it cleaner than it was in the beginning. Sofa/bed was very bad…I had back pain after sleeping there. We removed pillow cases and saw the pillows have never been washed…there were many stains. There was a coffee machine but only 2 filters for it. Only 1 toilet roll.

The location was good. It takes 7 min by foot to get train station and within 30-35 minutes you are in the center of Paris. The host allowed to park the car and to leave the luggage before check in time and was very responsive and helpful.

Vey noisy as close to the road and the walls don’t give enough sound proof. Sofa was quite old with the deep in the middle of the mattress that makes your back suffer. Upper beds are only for children as the attic is quite low.

My kids and I spent a wonderful week at this cottage. The cottage has everything for life: an excellent bed, a kitchen, a toilet and a shower. The children slept on the second floor and were satisfied. The house is warm, the site is surrounded by a fence, so it was secluded, protected and quiet. Convenient location, 30 min to the center of Paris. Norbert explained in great detail how to get to Paris and Disneyland and how to use the metro.

At the night in the property it was really cold, to get to our beds we had to climb a ladder, the ladder wasn’t secure and it was a really small place in the sleeping area. you have to be careful when you wake up because you will bang your head on the ceiling as it is like a very small attic place to sleep “bedroom” BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DEPOSIT ! the owner took £100 from up on arrival even gave us a receipt where it says that we gave £100 but on the checkout day he brought an envelope with £80 and said he doesn’t know where the other £20 disappeared. So I was very angry and upset as he tried to scam us when he saw that he said “okay I will give you €20” I didn’t need € as we was going back to England and when I changed that to £ I lost some of my money which I shouldn’t have. BE CAREFUL !!!

very nice and clean, perfect for the couple but for small family works too. owner provides a very cheap taxi service which is very convenient. best thing you need when you staying Paris.

We came to this property on the evening of the 1st September with much enthusiasm to met with disaster. The gate leading to the cottage was broken leaving one entrance through the homeowners estate and meaning that there was no privacy at all The freezer was broken and the hobs did not work properly. The mezzanine has no beds but just three mattresses that smelled funny. The windows on the mezzanine floor where unsafe for young children and could be accessed from the back. The ladder was not a fixed point and was unstable for anyone to climb and kept moving. There is no fence bordering the property from the cottage, which means the homeowner has full access 24/7 and we heard both him and his dog go past the cottage at 3am which made us feel very uneasy. The houseowner spoke very little English and most communication was hard at best. The houses land the cottage was on was full of boxes, bricks, paint cans and rubbish which was hazourdous. The BBQ was not near the cottage and you had to go in front of the homeowners house so you could not access this on your own or have any privacy. My child could not sleep and had nightmares about the experience. I could not sleep neither could my partner. There is not mention on the advert about a dog however one is on the land and has full access to the full area and the cottage. A window in the cottage could not be closed because it was used for air conditioning since the cottage was not secured away and could be accessed this made us feel uneasy. The key was hard to use and we struggled to fully lock and then reopen the cottage. The hot tub and sauna facilities are in the homeowners basement and can be accessed by them all the time once again giving no security. If you have a young family or want any privacy do not book this property. This is unsafe and needs a lot of work.
