The location was ideal. It is shared with the Celebration Hall Theatre. You enter through the doors with the awning of '20 Baltimore Ave Condominiums'. The first code is input at the door. Walking in, you'll make a left and then you'll see the sign that lists each room (20 A Delmar , etc). This room is 20D Henlopen and it's at the end of the hall. The room code is input there, no key necessary. The Celebration Hall facility has women and men's bathrooms located in this hallway as well. It may be a little noisier if a show is in session, but it isn't too bad. As for the room, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen and appliances were extremely nice (granite countertops, Frigidaire appliances). There are plenty of mugs, cups, dishes, pots, and pans and utensils. There is a ground coffee maker and a teal Keurig in the cabinet. The fridge has an ice maker and water which was a plus! There is a washer and a dryer that is available but we did not use it. Detergent was provided. The walls were a little scuffed up, possibly due to other guests luggage, etc. but the sofa bed was on the less comfortable side. The windows were opaque so you couldn't look out and no one could look in from the restaurant/bar next door. The location was about 200 yards from the beach/boardwalk (at the end of the street, the Reheboth Beach Patrol is located). We had a beach wagon that was easy to navigate down the street and boardwalk. There are also bike racks located there if you're renting bikes and need to park them for a day or even overnight. Outside of the condo, is a large connect four game, with 4 Adirondack chairs and a table. You are also within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.
The parking situation was confusing when we arrived in the evening. The listing stated that one parking space was included with the unit, but signage at the lot across the street read "Private Parking – By Permit Only," and the description also noted that Vacasa does not issue permits. To avoid a ticket, we used free street parking in front of the condo (available 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. from May to September). The next morning, we visited the parking permit kiosk, thinking we needed to buy a permit. They informed us that Vacasa should provide it. After calling the Vacasa help line and some back-and-forth, we eventually received a parking permit at our door later that day. It was a little frustrating, but we appreciated that someone followed through. The listing could be much clearer about where to park. For future guests: the designated parking for this unit (Henlopen 20D) is directly across the street, on the right-hand side, in space #7. There’s a placard on the fence that also says "Reserved Parking, Henlopen Unit D". Other cars parked there didn’t display permits for their parking spaces if staying at the condominiums, but since we were provided one, we hung ours just in case. Also worth noting: there is no front desk, lobby, or on-site staff. All issues must go through the Vacasa customer service line, which means response times can vary. Another minor inconvenience was the air conditioning—it was cold overnight but noticeably warmer during the day, even though we didn’t adjust it (as per Vacasa’s request not to change the settings). Lastly, I’d suggest bringing extra pillows and blankets. The bed came with two queen pillows and two smaller ones, which we ended up using for the sofa bed. Bedding includes only a sheet and two thin blankets—no comforter—so if you run cold or plan to use the sofa bed, extra linens might be helpful.
