Experience Your Vacation Haven
This spacious two story property is as delightful as its quirky name – Hook Wine and Sinker! Located in fashionable Crystal Beach, this family vacation home is designed after a traditional Southern residence. So, you’ll be tempted to linger longer on the spacious wraparound porch. But once you step inside, deeply exhale as worries evaporate, and the vacation begins in this light, airy coastal dwelling.
Windows, strategically placed, allow for beautiful vistas to let the sunshine in as you enjoy the pleasures of the Gulf of Mexico, just steps away at the Barracuda Street access located only a couple of blocks down at the end of Barracuda Street, or for complimentary beach chair set up head over to the beach at the Crab Trap and receive set up of four chairs and two umbrellas each day during your stay (March through October)!
There’s plenty of seating throughout the house, both inside and out, for a crowd to share stories of their daily adventures. Meals can be served in the roomy dining area that seats ten or on the relaxing, ample screened porch. The kitchen is outfitted with gourmet appliances any chef would covet!
There are various options for sleeping choices in this 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, with privacy for everyone, allowing for days of getting more restful sleep. A step-in shower and soaking tub in the master suite allow you the luxury of completely unwinding at the end of an exhilarating day.
Privacy is ensured within a fenced, shady backyard that holds some delightful surprises! Around the fire pit, fishing buddies can tell stories of “the one that got away” or use the gas grill to enjoy what was actually caught. Likewise, the secluded, lit gazebo would allow for rousing card games. Plus, this cozy yet expansive entertainment area allows families to oversee the preparation of s’mores for the kids. At the same time, the efficient exercise pool is close enough for parents to sit on the porch to un-wine, while keeping an eye on all the multiple activities being enjoyed.
Several families could enjoy vacationing together as the adjoining property, The Hideaway, can be rented simultaneously (upon availability), allowing up to 19 people to gather.
The vacation would not be complete without visiting nearby Miramar Beach and Destin. Seemingly limitless sporting options and fine dining await. Then, to enjoy a bit of local color, take a drive down Scenic 30A. Your daily excursions are only limited by your imagination!

Wonderful! Comfy pillows, clean bathrooms, great shower heads, stocked kitchen utensils, on-site laundry - all the little details that make a house feel like a home. Would definitely stay again!

This place was amazing! Easy check in (entry code was sent 2 hours prior to check in), the house was beautifully decorated, supplies were thoughtful (we only needed to purchase extra consumable items), and the house was very clean. The pool was fabulous and as pictured, there was plenty of outdoor seating. We loved relaxing on the back porch. They also provided 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas at the Crab Trap (which had plenty of parking, a bathhouse and a restaurant). This was a little farther than the beach entry at the end of the road but was absolutely worth the very small drive. We were able to pay a small fee each day to have our seats reserved (this was only really necessary on Labor Day). The management company was very responsive when we reached out to them. We would definitely recommend this home and plan to stay again!

This property was exactly as the pictures showed. It was perfect for our family. While we did get a surprise when we could not use the beach that was a 5 minute walk from the house the beach chairs available at The Crab Trap were perfect!!

The house was wonderful. It had everything I was looking for in a vacation home. Except I wasn’t told about the rat traps in and outside the house. Why rat traps in this location you might ask, for snakes of course. Yes I’m aware that Florida has snakes just not informed that they were prevalent in urban area. Maybe the 2 snakes we had were trying to find the dead rat on the side of the house. If you don’t mind no hot water occasionally, then this is your VRBO! We had maintenance people over almost daily. Brand new grill, used once the night before, and they were over maintaining grill the next morning. There were maintenance people for gardening the yard, moving garbage cans twice a week, and to fix the water heater. It was fun trying to catch some sunshine when extra unwanted visitors were always dropping in. As this house is owned by a corporate entity communications were as expected. Call back on their time. Would I stay here again, never for the 5500 a week it cost me. It was lovely having a heated pool for an extra 400. Nice location. Walking available to most places but you have to cross the bustiest road in Destin. Just say a prayer before crossing with little people and you should be good. This was my first VRBO experience and I am hesitant to go this route again.
