Relaxing, Spacious, Private, Walkable in Petworth!

Clean and comfortable for my family

The neighborhood was quiet, The house was clean on the surface, the metro was about a 10 minute walk.

After the first night I discovered several items that were life safety items, like missing or non existent smoke detectors in sleeping spaces, one had been covered in tape while painting it had been a long time like that. Gas vent to water heater was not properly attached with a negative slope in the vent pipe. exposed live electric line in low ceiling in the basement. I emailed the managers with a detailed list of more items than listed here, they said they would get on it. Didn't see them the whole week. This house has lots of deferred maintenance. Before I would rent this house I would want a current safety inspection by the governing authorities to make sure it was safe to stay in.

I liked the size of the property. I liked the parking availability. I liked the location.

The bathrooms need to cleaned better and updated. The basement needs to improved, particularly the ceiling.

Lots of bedrooms, great location

1) the blinds ARE broken in dining room pics enclosed. 2) the futon in dining room has no legs 3) dining room chairs are falling apart 4) the fire place is unusable as it is a gas fireplace that is not hooked up. 5) the living room furniture is the most uncomfortable i gave ever sat on. 6) the floors have not been washed in a very long time 7) appliances in basement are unusable. 8) there is no furniture to sit on on either porches/decks 9) charcoal grill was left dirty and full of old ash, we cleaned it. 10) dishwasher parts inside are falling apart, we did not use it in fear of further damage. Clean dishes were left in it from prior guests. 11) towels were in dryer, we had to go searching for them. 12) there is no parking spaces in back of house, it is an alley and if you park there you are blocking access for garbage trucks to pass through. The house needs many upgrades to make it “relaxing and comfortable” as stated in ad. If upgrades were done it would be a really nice place to stay and would make it worth the $400+ nightly fee.
