It was a very clean cottage with good facilities. Easy access from the main road and adequate parking. Nice cake on arrival and welcome card from Esther.

The shower was very high to step into and would not be suitable for any guests with a disability. It is also downstairs so not ideal if people are up and down in the night.

The owner was delightful and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was clean and tidy. Despite the road noise, we were able to sleep well. The cottage was located in a lovely rural area, and the local wildlife could be observed from the cottage. The recycling facilities were brilliant and made sorting rubbish very easy. There was a welcome card from the owner, cake, milk and cleaning supplies in the cottage. A really considerate gesture and a very nice welcome.

The bathroom was alongside the kitchen area. When we entered the property on arrival we could smell the septic tank. The smell lingered on the ground floor living area, kitchen and loo all the time. My son and I spent as little time as possible in the property due to the unpleasant smell. The listing stated that the property had a DVD player and TV. Unfortunately, the TV wasn't a smart TV and there wasn't a DVD player. I informed the owner on the second day, and the owner kindly swopped the TV on the evening of the third day. Information regarding the Wi-Fi was not in the welcome brochure so I had to phone the owner to find out about that which was a bit inconvenient.

The kettle hadn’t been cleaned , it required de scaling. It was difficult to reach the switch to the bathroom to get the shower working. The ability to step up and down to the shower unit , also the stairs . For people with limited ability this should have be advised in the description of the property initially.
