About this house rental

Welcome to Lakeside Cove at Smith Mountain Lake!

Don't let low water levels ruin your lake vacation. Many areas of Smith Mountain Lake have experienced difficult dock access during the current low water conditions. Fortunately, our dock remains easily accessible, making it simple to enjoy your boat, jet skis, swimming, fishing, and everything else the lake has to offer. If your own lake house or another rental has become challenging to use, Lakeside Cove offers an easy, worry-free alternative.

Escape the noise and traffic of the main channel at this peaceful lakefront spot across from the State Park, where you’ll enjoy nature instead of neighbors. The flat lot makes getting to the water easy. Great for families, fishermen, and boaters with mooring, trailer parking, and plenty of water toys for the kids—a perfect place to relax and enjoy the lake.

Our home’s location is a major draw. Situated just inside the wide cove entrance, you’ll feel like you’re truly on the lake rather than “up the river.” The State Park across the water cuts boat traffic in half, giving you nature views instead of houses. Wildlife is abundant—squirrels, deer, geese, and cranes often visit your yard and shoreline.

With a flat lot and no stairs between the back deck and shoreline, it’s easy to bring coolers, food, and water toys down for fun on the lake. A set of stairs to the water lets kids play safely in the shallow areas while you relax on the deck or under the shade of mature trees. Deeper water at the end of the dock is ideal for fishing and boat access. You’ll have full use of our portion of the dock, including the boathouse and floating dock, with space for your boat and jet skis.

No boat? No problem! Explore the lake with any of our 6 kayaks or 2 paddleboards, complete with life jackets. Or just hang out in the water with our pool noodles and floating lily pad mat.

Linens and bath towels are provided for each guest at no extra cost. Please bring your own lake towels and any pet towels you may need.

Inside the home:

-Lower Level: Second living area with another large sectional with power recliners, 55" TV, and easy access to outdoor fun. Two bedrooms share a full bath and laundry room. One king bedroom has sliding glass doors with beautiful morning lake views.

Outdoor spaces and extras:

-Lower deck: oversized couch, 2 chairs, a table for drinks or games, fans for extra comfort, and movable Adirondack chairs.

-Upper deck: dining table for 4, additional railing seating, fans, and a fixed awning for summer shade to enjoy the lake views.

-Ample parking with two driveways, plenty of room for multiple cars and trailers, and easy boat trailer access.

Very nice house and beautiful view right on the lake. The house was very nice inside and cozy. The deck outside with the cover was great to sit out on and watch an afternoon storm. My dog had so much fun I could not keep him out the water. The host had great communication and quickly responded with any questions I had. I hope to rent this house again in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at this home! The mini- split AC/heat units were nice for each of us to have comfortable temp for our room. Malcolm answered any questions we had and we had everything we needed to cook like we were at home. We spent time fishing, paddle boarding,

As always, our time at the lake was perfect. It was beautiful, it was warm and it was so so peaceful. The home is always clean and the amenities are amazing. Want to make spaghetti yes there’s a spaghetti tool and a colander. Want a barbecue which we did four times there’s a wonderful grill that works beautifully. There’s a Keurig for cups and/or a pot. Want a French press yep there’s one of those also! There were so many people fishing on the lake, jet, skis, and just the afternoon sailor. My husband took a great photograph of the Milky Way. The heron of course showed up for his photo shoot. This is our third or fourth time coming to this home and we will be back hopefully twice a year for as long as we can. Malcolm is amazing. He calls to check on you and see if you need anything. If you text him, he replies very quickly. I highly recommend this home. Although I hope you don’t go when I wanna go.
