About this house rental
The Boat House is a completely remodeled (2022) 4/2 beach house right on the beach. The views are gorgeous and you can walk right down your back stairs out to the waves. The house enjoys vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, vibrant beach decor, and comfortable furnishings throughout! The dining room has a walkout slider giving you a direct view of the Gulf of Mexico. The house has new flooring and countertops, and cabinets, so you can count on being happy and able to relax on a wonderful beach vacation!
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-dog maximum limit. $100 pet fee per dog applies.
10. Cargo lifts are not available to guests and can not be used. They are not permitted by Home Owner Insurance Policies.

We love dauphin island. We had a pretty good stay overall. There were quite a few appliances that didn’t work or were broken but I notified the owner at the end of our stay and they said they’ll send someone out to fix/replace each thing. All communication was quick and respectful. We enjoyed our stay.

This was our 3rd stay at Dauphin Island and chose to try the far west end of the island. This unit met our needs as far as size and pet friendly. It is definitely in need of TLC. While I realize that 90% of the homes on this part of the island are rentals and maximizing income is important, so is a place that does not have sections of the interior walls coming apart. Lots of mold and rust which is not uncommon of coastal living but water/condensation dripping off the vents onto you was a little much.
The kitchen was a little under stocked for eating in. We cook when we come here and have learned to bring the things we absolutely need, knives/pans, etc. We also bring our own grill as the ones at beach side properties are always rusty and or not functional at all, as was the case here. WiFi was solid and no issues streaming stuff at night.
Biggest disappointment was the location or more importantly the house that is situated right between this unit and the beach. You have little to no beach view unless looking off to the ends of the deck. The unit behind them has light that is kept on all night. You could land a plane off the light coming from it. Big detractor in the evening while trying to enjoy the night sky. Also, the seawall around that house makes for very loud waves. We like the waves but at night is was very hard to sleep due to the amplified sound from the waves on the sea wall.
All in all, this unit is serviceable. It is need of a little TLC and a good cleaning.
