Spacious and Stylish One-Bedroom Apartment on Place de Gaulle Antibes

The apartment itself was comfortable, very well equipped and well located. My direct interactions with Oceane from the agency were friendly and efficient.

Our experience before and after the holiday was less friendly. The slightly eyewatering 900 Euro security deposit which Booking.com stated would be taken by credit card and reimbursed within 7 days of checkout was actually done through Swikly. This has the benefit of only putting a hold on your card rather than taking the money, however it comes with repeated offers to insure your deposit, and emails warning you to carry out an inventory and upload photos before and after your holiday to prevent BNB renting from being able to take your deposit. I was also sent an automated link for check in and check out. This informed me a a number of fees I would be charged for non-compliance such as not taking out the rubbish or doing the washing up. It also offered multiple ways I could pay extra to upgrade my stay including extra towels and bed linens which were just not needed, especially on departure! This all felt a bit grubby and impersonal. After check out I contacted BNB renting to double check that all was ok with the inspection of the apartment, but heard nothing back. Ordinarily I wouldn't feel the need to do this but after the dire warnings from Swikly before and during my stay, and complete lack of update after, I wanted some reassurance. Three weeks after returning home I have finally received an email from Swikly telling me my deposit has been released. Sadly the unease I felt either side of what was otherwise a relaxing trip spoilt it a little for me, and I am not sure I would stay here again as a result.

Die Lage war sehr gut zentral mit den sehr nahen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Haltestellen sowie Fahrverbindungen. Der Strand war nicht weit. Die Vertreterin zeigte uns freundlich wie die Wasch- und Spülmaschine sowie andere Geräte zu benutzen waren (außer dem Installieren von TV-Kanälen, die nicht klappte). Netflix und Amazon Prime sowie div. digitale Apps waren vorhanden.

Trotz der Angabe frz. TV-Kanäle zu haben (dt. Kanäle waren nicht vorhanden), waren keine Fernsehkanäle verfügbar. So konnte ich z.B. kein Fussball mitverfolgen. Die Vertreterin scheiterte am TV die TV-Kanäle zu installieren und versprach darum mit dem Vermieter zu kommunizieren, doch es passierte nicht. Toilettenpapier oder Papierrollen waren zu wenig verfügbar oder keines (z.B. Waschpulver) und wir mussten selbst weitere kaufen, die wir in anderen Ländern noch nie erlebten.
