Hostal La Medina de Camponaraya

This was right on the Camino path so very easy to get to and the air-conditioning was amazing during the heat wave that was going on. The bed was very comfortable and the garden was a good place to relax as well. One thing to note go to the grocery store before you get to the place as it’s back near the Camino path when you turn.

The accommodation, restaurant and service were all top value. I had a single room in the hostal which was spacious, clean and attractively decorated with a comfortable bed, a TV and an en suite bath with a great shower with plenty of hot water. My room overlooked the garden and I had no noise issues, slept well. Next door is the restaurant with hotel reception, bar, indoor seating, a big shaded terrace and pretty garden both with lots of seating. I had the pilgrims menu which had plenty of options and was delicious and good value. Finally, the manager is a super nice guy who was so helpful when I accidentally left my walking pole behind in the morning and arranged to send it on to me at another albergue. He works his socks off as does the waitress and always with a smile.

Beautiful, super comfortable and clean room; fabulous restaurant with bar and garden; very nice and welcoming staff. Everything was wonderful.

Nothing we didn’t like.

The room was clean and warm. Beds ok. Shower ok.

The location was so disappointing. Everything was closed except the supermarket - thankfully - or we would have had nothing to eat after walking 27kms to get there. Hostel advertised dinner, bar and the location boasts restaurants and plenty of facilities. We found one place open and they refused to serve us food even though signs out the front advertised food !! Strange place. Unwelcoming town. Maybe red up with pilgrims who visit but business is business.
